It's an 18 month contract but other than that it seems a reasonable deal for Orange contract customers and a good alternative to O2's offering.

A BT (or Post Office) landline connection is required and prices start from £6.50 a month with 3 months free and an Orange phoneline which costs £10.50 a month.

Might be worth looking up Orange's definition of "unlimited". From memory it's 5GB a MONTH and then you get throttled...!
#2
Non-Orange customers must pay an extra £3 per month
#3
Note you have to be a customer to get this price AND you need to get landline rental with them as well.

as per usual the fair usage is a vague as a smudge in a paint can:

Orange broadband are the most awful ISP in the UK. Was stuck with them for a year. Their broadband randomly disconnects in the night, sometimes for 15 seconds, sometimes for 15 minutes. They provide a router than is a piece of junk, always use your own, although if anything ever goes wrong, they blame it on your router. Their customer service is somewhere in India and the employee's cannot understand anything that is not on their script. The speeds are super slow in peak hours (5-12pm in my experience) and if you are a gamer, your ping will be too high to play anything during these hours. They are the only ISP I have ever had where I can't play a on XBOX Live, or even 10 year old PC game because I always got ping kicked.

It will be more of a nightmare than it is worth, plus you will be stuck in a contract.

You really do get what you pay for, NEVER GO WITH ORANGE BROADBAND! This is SUPER COLD from me.

I took my connection with O2 when they had the Cashback from Quidco. And I am satisfied with the performance. My BitTorrent runs 24/7 for the last 9 months. Fair Usage policy...what?
so, not voting for this deal

Your experience sounds like a bad one but I have been with them for the last 4+ years and apart from initial problems with the connection I have had no problems and pay only £5 a month for unlimited broadband and free weekend and evening calls.

If you call the right number, you will never need to speak to anyone in India. I also live in a village where all my neighbours have Sky or BT and my connection is quicker than all of theirs. They all seem to have had issues with initial set up also! I use my PS3 and Xbox and have never lost a connection, had throttled connection or kicked off.

Orange Livebox is a pile of dogs mess and I would look to change that asap as it seems to update whenever it feels like!

if your looking at gaming i would avoid, you get terrible pings , i was with them until i eventually got out of contract, day time is fine, come the evening you will notice a big diffrence in lag when playing online games, and with an 18 month contract would be very bad mistake in my opinion, i,m now with plusnet, and havent looked back great pings any time of day and you can cancel givin 30 days notice no matter what package your on,

also plusnet have an offer on at the moment of 4 yes thats 4!!! months free:)

Not too sure, my parents house got throttled and no one even uses BitTorrent there, they don't know how!

You are a very lucky person, because if you look at the links I posted, it seems the majority of their customers have had similar experiences to myself.

I cannot stress enough that you want to avoid this ISP like the plague.

This can't be as bad as Orange Mobile BB.
Mine's so bad I've bought a dongle deal from 3 even though I have a year of the Orange + netbook contract still to run!
And 3 is over double the speed (?) of Orange.

i was in similer position to you , what i did was send an email to the CEO of orange, i complained about high pings etc, soon after i heard back from them and they let me leave for free, no charge, i think i had about 3-4 months remaining, so that was the only positive thing to come out of it for me,

Worth complaining hard to Orange. I cancelled mine over a month into the contract as the contract was so bad when travelling I did the same and got a contract with O2. I gave them a lot of hassle and in only one call (although a lengthy one) I was able to get my contract cancelled.

Any proof of the level of service being poor helps!

Thank you.
I'll think about it.
Prob is, What happens to the netbook if they let me cancel?
I'm off to learn how to do screenshots of speed test results. X)
