The OC, otherwise known as Orange County, California: the mythical sun n' surf setting of paradise and success...but underneath it all lies a world of back-stabbing and secret lives. This boxset contains the entire first season of the series that tells the story of the Cohen, Cooper and Nichol families- and Ryan Atwood, the troubled teen whose arrival shakes things up for the O.C.

Reasonable price. Poor retailer - alot of questions regarding ethics due to systematic mispricing by blahDVD + 101CD - comments in Comments forum for any interested parties.

Bad enough customer relations & service to have people considering a ban....

Oh well rayman, it seems like last weeks experience with these companies is not going to go away! Good deals but bad company, i think my post for 101 above will get the same cooolness!!

All this talk of banning is getting a bit out of hand isn't it?

How long will it be before there are calls to ban people with creepy avatars who write in bold font then:p

I've always found Blah to be ok and the few times I've ordered from 101cd, everything has worked out ok as well.

I think conspiracy theories regarding this are probably a bit wide of the mark and cock-up is nearer the truth.

If you have a bad experience, then don't order again but banning deals or talking about the company is going the way of some other forums that operate like some kind of police state:whistling:

So if I read this right, if I have a bad experience with a company I shouldn't warn others? What if 1000 people have said bad experience? Not all is rosy in the internet garden and I think people should be kept aware of that fact. This is Hot UK Deals, and unlike some unenlightened countries, the UK has freedom of speech (to a point), something not commonly associated with police states/dictatorships:thumbsup:

Thing is if others feel the company is trustworthy it'll get more than enough hot votes anyway - it's a community, and for something that is well priced to go so cold, the majority of voters must feel the merchant isn't worth using.

I've had great service (some time ago) from Blah but the last time out was bad enough to put me off for a VERY long time....

Sure f#ck-ups happen but it's how you deal with them that people remember & this one was mis-managed from the word go.
And do you really think that E-tailers never....
1. Mis-price to increase traffic to their site & positioning on search engines?
2. Mis-treat customers & potential customers knowing that the laws on internet sales are a shambles so they can do as they please.
(People like Prezzybox, Play & Amazon have given out vouchers as a goodwill/public relations excercise NOT because they were ever in fear of getting prosecuted!)

As Shengis said, I'm more than happy to accept that you are entitled to your opinion so I'd be grateful if you would allow me mine.

Well, don't buy from them again. But if you look at all the consistent mis-pricers, they include Amazon and HMV so if you take that attitude with every e-tailer that messes up, you're gonna be left trotting off down the high st.

Well, I don't subscribe to the conspiracy theories and Amazon now gives out diddly squat - go search through all the recent mis-price threads if you can put up with all the whingeing as well. Play has just started to cancel peoples’ accounts if they think people are taking the pi$$ out of their errors– see their recent mis-price debacle:p

Of course you should. If someone takes your money without any intention of delivering the goods then we would all want to know about it - yes DVDSoon, that was directed at you:p

But seriously, is this the same issue?:whistling:

Amazon do still give out vouchers, you just have to push them.
Play had a bot suspend accounts - all were returned to normal with an apology.

Cheapskate, not going to argue the toss with you, we all have our own opinion on just about everything, live and let live:thumbsup:

But.... As for this comment :

Yep, opine away dear boy. But I still think that calls for banning is just bollox

I disagree. Both blah and 101 saw those threads so they know what public opinion (at least on HUKD) dictates. Maybe in future they will be a bit more careful in their pricing policy. In which case all this will soon be forgotten. If not, then maybe a ban IS actually the way to go.
