Nokia 5800 Dolphin £30 (£27.41 online direct with Orange)
200 mins + 300 texts
With Quidco £150 cashback, effective monthly cost = £14.91

Best I found elsewherewas effectively £14.68 but you'd have to claim your cashback rather than automatic through Quidco.

Free evening and weekend mobile internet browsing for 2 months.

FOR A 12 MONTH CONTRACT - USE RACOON AND NOT DOLPHIN

Phone breaks down after a few weeks

Who would ever want a resistive screen after using a capacitance screen (Iphone/Ipod Touch).

you mean yours did.

Considering the volume sold (pushing 3 million since release) it's likely that some failures will occur. there was also an issue with the earpiece speaker on some early models, this was resolved by a component change on the first models

For the record mine is 6mths old and working fine (As are most)

hot from me as 12mth deals are always good.

Huge price difference between a iPhone and a 5800 though.

Had mine since launch day, working fine, as it my girlfriends as is three other peoples that I know have one...

oh and Quidco is far from automatic, especially lately...

free evening and weekend mobile internet for 2 months ONLY
#8
I've heard nothing but good reports myself. Couple of friends have them and dead pleased.
#9
Quite right - post updated to 2 months free mobile internet
#10
Phew, the £150 has returned. I was on last night but disappeared this morning, so I thought it was a mistake

Voted Hot, I also just cancelled my three contract, so this could do me nicely
#11
Had one, great phone for that price! HOT

Isn't Racoon better deal, as it included 200 landline minutes?

So it's really 200 mobile minutes, 200 landline minutes and 300 txts for the same price

Good 12months deal, shame about internet but that's Orange for you...
Have my since Feb and I am pleased. I would even say screen response is better than my Touch HD.

been waiting 9 months for a validated payment from the rac

really tempted as i was going to buy a nokia 5800 anyway for 160, only worry is quidco dont end up paying, which would almost double the cost...

If you do everything correctly then i'm almost 100% sure that they'll pay up

I am feeling the same if the Quidco was a dead cert I would of signed up by now

I've only had good experience with Quidco. They paid me £150 last year for transactions that didn't track properly during 2007.
#19
Tempted but 4.97 for Orange's 500MB data limit is a dealbreaker for my circumstances after being on O2 simplicity, good deal regardless and 12months only, heat and repped. Will have a look to see if other networks have anything similar.
#20
need the phone unlocked too... is it quite easy/cheap to get unlocked?
#21
I know someone who signed up for this phone through orange and quidco about 4 months ago, and the transaction's been tracked for the past 3months but no money sent by orange to quidco.
#22
LG arena also a good one heat added. There may be others out there when you consider the £150 quidco. I just fancied the 5800.

Turns out the phone's not free with the contract, so I've expired it
#24
Just ordered and Quidco seems to have tracked

btw. Does anyone know if there's a cooling off period?
#25
Edit that: 7 days or 14 days I cant rmemeber which but youre safer sticking to 7 days until someone is sure lol

[confirmation: yes 14 days for the contract]

Sorry but i cant find the 12 month plan. All racoon plans seems to be either 18 or 24 months.

But remember to go through quidco when youve found it
#29
Hmm, I'm so tempted... I know people have doubts about Quidco, but according to Orange's stats, it tracks fast and reliability is at 95% so I can't see that being a factor, really.
#30
good deal, great phone!
#31
does anyone know a cheap and sure way to unlock this phone? orange have confirmed it will be locked to their network.
#32
e2save currently has this phone at £10 per month (by cashback) on a 24 month contact. 600 mins / unlimited texts.
#33
24 month contract - no thanks :)

Ahem.......

"When your two month free trial ends, your evening and weekend mobile internet browsing will then cost £5 a month. If you do not want to keep the service, you will need to opt out by calling Orange Customer service"

Can't seem to find out the bandwidth usage you get for the extra 5er.

Is that the £80 for car insurance by any chance?

Same here then, tracked in Sep 08 and I have been chasing Quidco for the past 5 months. I know they're not to blame, but RAC give them a load of cr$p reasons all the time. I won't give up, but won't renew my insurance with RAC, that's for sure:x

Tempting!

mine is on its way for saturday, but does anyone know if it being on orange makes it any harder to unlock?
thanks op.
oh by the way, when i first ordered it didnt complete and asked me to call them... well after doing this quidco for long enough, i wasnt going to be drawn into completing offline and potentially losing or complicating quidco's payout so i just ignored it. They emailed me this morning to say on its way :-)

How much did you have to pay for postage?

Mine's coming on Monday, because I refused to pay the extra premium for it to be delivered today or tomorrow. I'm pretty sure the other networks have free delivery, so why not Orange?!
