On the website it says 47p off (down from £1.16) but at my local store they were charging £1.29 previously so a saving of 60p.

Anyway, a bargain. It may not be the best in the world, but is really pretty good and if your family guzzle it down everyday then it's just right. My 'specials' store is now well stocked for the coming months !!!

Probably just because it is from Lidl. A lot of people find that Lidl products taste funny as soon as they realise where it is from :whistling:

Those people who judge with tastebuds instead of perceived status of retailer find it one of the best around. Until this offer it had become a bit too expensive though, and I had given up buying it - but at half price it is absolutely unbeatable, and I stocked up yesterday!

Chat magazine (not that that it has any snob value either!) agreed and rated it second in tests, although that would have been at full price.

How on earth would freshly squeezed be selling for 69p for 1.5L? 46p a litre! If it was FOUR to SIX times this price it would be very cheap for freshly squeezed! It is a fair assumption that any orange juice on sale is concentrate based unless is says otherwise in very big text.

Cheap concentrate-produced OJ anywhere is about 60p per Litre currently, so anything less than 90p for this size would be cheap, but as it happens this brand is probably as good as it gets, and it is 69p for 1.5L

Yes, it is made from concentrate. Checked with my missus, she agreed with me thats it is very good so that's fine by me.

Anyone else have a view whether it was £1.29 or £1.16? I'm convinced it was the former though the Lidl website insists it was the latter.

Well, I'm glad not everyone likes it, means there'll be plenty for me to buy some more to last the year :-D; the use by date is well into 2010 at my local store.

Agreed, in fact I would go further than that: The sooner the credit-crunch Lidl/Aldi/Netto "new" clientele get back to shopping at Waitrose, rather than clogging the aisles, the easier my shopping will be :-)

I think in one of my local stores it might have been even dearer than £1.29, (maybe £1.36 or 1.39?) - it was 69p or 76p about a year or more back, but had steadily risen to the point I wasn't buying it any more, in some ways for me, no bad thing - as "healthy" as fruit juice is, it is still ankle-deep in natural sugar, which is still sugar, and maybe why I like it SO much!

When the 'credit crunch' was big news last year and the media was going on about people shopping in the 'low-cost supermarkets Lidl and Aldi' I just wanted to tell them to shut up. Last thing we need is these stores full of impoverished Waitrose and Sainsburys types snapping up the stuff before I could get it, moaning at the till that they have to wait 5 minutes to get served.

Tesco is selling it's 'NOT from Concentrate' stuff for a pound a litre if you buy two, i think that may be the cheapest in the 'Not from concentrate' variety then...
