Cheaper than Amazon and Clove who are taking pre orders at £249.99 (sim free) and delivery mid September.

No doubt available online soon.

I am not sure this is a replacement for the San Francisco more a bigger brother..

Yes locked to Orange network but for how long as I am sure people with be working on this.

Orange have around 800 due to be delivered this week and it's on their matrix system.
I have asked for one to be put by and will pick it up tomorrow when it gets delivered.

I have asked a few other stores in Manchester and not everyone seems to be getting them and some stores are only getting one.

For the Orange version (locked) it is instore only and some stores are having them delivered from tomorrow.
#3
Quite interested but will wait to see if it can be unlocked!

From my reading looks like this will be the case. Also, no Flash Support either.
#6
Big screen for the money but average processor.

Will build quality and reliability be any better than the San Francisco?
#7
Unless all the Orange bloat can be stripped off then is this a good idea?

My SF flies in comparison to the original branded 2.1 OS it came with
#8
I assume if you have a T-mobile sim it will work fine in this?

Currently using a T-Mobile pulse, I take it this would be a significant step up in processing power and the number of apps you're able to install?

Not officially due to licencing, but the hardware can handle it so it's only a matter of time...

Should be availabe online from a week today (I'm told).

Be interesting if you can still get the £30 off for being an existing Orange customer ? (that's with Telesales btw, if it's still running not in store).

Do you have a source for this information as the official word from Orange is that the phone isn't on release until next week.

You mean the videos from February of a test unit? I have personally played with one of these devices in the last month and any issues with lag have long gone. Hopefully the addition of Orange customisations won't have slowed things down.

No, it's locked to Orange.

Thanks, I thought that being able to use the Orange network as a T-Mobile customer might mean sims were also interchangeable.

Went in to the Orange shop and asked he said it has been loaded into there Matrix system so I asked about stock and they were due 4 Sat morning with 800 being shipped. I rang a few other stores in Manchester to confirm.
#18
Still don't see why people want this, it's just an overclocked SF with a larger screen, voted cold.

They're still run as separate networks and phone locked to one won't work with the others sims.
All you can do is roam on one from the other.

Cheers. The staff in Nottingham are being lame and telling me they cannot sell any until next Friday! :(

Hot because it's the best price yet for this phone by a long way. Just because some don't like the phone doesn't mean it isn't the best deal for this product.

I like the orange network, I like the phones orange sell, but the **** orange put on the phones and the branding must lose them lots of sales.
#25
Does it have a flash camera? The only problems with the SF is no flash camera and no flash software. Oh and battery

you're referring to a pre production model of February this year. six months down the line lot of things would have changed and i am sure about that.

unless someone uses and confirms it, it is not worth calling the phone laggy

The 1ghz version isn't out yet http://android.modaco.com/topic/344625-skate-800mhz-at-launch-1ghz-coming-later/ They are trying to sell off all the 800mhz versions.

Yes it has an LED flash. But no flash player support again.
Its just a blade with a larger screen, slightly quicker processor and a flash.
