phoned orange customer services for an upgrade deal. My contract expires shortly. I mentioned that O2 were currently offering Nokia N95's free to new customers, and asked for an upgrade to match. I said I'd leave if they didn't
match it, they tried to pursuade me to take a different phone. I refused and they agreed to give me the N95 free, they charged £9.99 for the admin fee. They are trying to charge an upgrade fee of £199, so standing your ground pays off. Hope this is of use. Happy Xmas everyone

Wow that sounds good. I just had a Sony w880i sent through on an upgrade. Have just called Orange now and arranged for it to be returned, then...will try for the N95 for free!!!

I was quite pushy when I did my upgrade, but all they gave me was discounted line rental and £50 cash back onto my account. I currently pay £35 a month (free broadband included - :whistling:for what thats worth!)

However, I did not say I was going to leave.. just that I would start a new contract to get the phone I want (like I have done for the last 3 years)

Thanks for the advice..... I would be interested to hear of other peoples experience with this matter.

Cheers for the post OP.

Excellent, thanks for the tip. THis is the phone I've been looking at and am Due for an upgrade in January! I have been with orange for years, but their data plan is quite expensive compared to say Vodafone. Any tips on how to get internet access cheaper from orange? Thanks again. Heat and rep added - when i can make sure i still know how to doit on the new site!

Is this only if you extend for another 18 months? I will only do a 12 month contract and they can be a bit miserly about them. Great to get it for free - beats the term cost of £900 for an iPhone.........
