Went to Argos today in Leeds and Collected the Mobile and got a 10 pound airtime free with the mobile + 10 pound recharge voucher + 10 pound argos voucher to spend till July 2011 if you spend 100 pounds. *My Store people gave me on this spend* you may try your luck else you can buy any item for 1 pound like battery,...

I dont know people will vote it cold or Hot, but for me its a hot offer as you can sell the 10 pound recharge voucher for some 5-7 pounds + you are getting 10 pounds voucher for Argos and airtime as well.....

Final Amount of mobile comes around less then 85 pounds.....

Or just buy from Tesco with the £10 off voucher floating around for £89.99 delivered and then still sell the £10. Same price but your not stuck with a £10 voucher and you get clubcard points too

Price quoted for deal is wrong, you buy the phone for £99.99.you must purchase a £10 top up which can only be applied to new sim in that phone and then you get a further £10 bonus credit which expires in a month if not used,

price instore therefore is £109.99 and you qualify for the current offer of a £10 argos gift card
#9
No grabbit, the price of the phone is £89.99, the £10 topup brings it to £99.99.

It's £99.99 for the phone plus £10 for the compulsory top up. I went to pick up a reservation but rejected it as they were charging £109.99 total. See http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5186620/Trail/searchtext%3ESAN+FRANCISCO.htm

Seems this phone is a really good value phone, could be good for my son's birthday. Only problem is that it is on Orange and they will make the money up by their rubbish tariffs.

How easy is it to unlock and debrand this phone so I can use it with a decent PAYG deal with a proper network?
#14
It's really easy to do I've done 2 of them since Christmas following the blog on hukd mobi site.

From the link to argos site...

£99.99 Orange San Francisco Mobile Phone - Grey. (33 Reviews)
This handset must be purchased with £10 airtime, this will automatically be added to your transaction in store

Total £109.99. If your argos sold it to you for a total of £99.99 then the sales assistant made an error

Where can you find this phone? None available in London but I can see that there are a couple available in Aberdeen . . . Not making that trek to get one. Also see that tesco has sold out . . .
Either they don't make very many of them or it's the most popular phone ever.
#19

pre pay mania or amazon have in stock for £99.99 including £10 topup. to name but 2 sites

some fool is selling this phone new on a popular auction site for close to £150, just cause they have put 2.3 on it lol
#21
I think this phone has been selling fast because people are buying them to unlock, put 2.2 Froyo on and then flog them on Ebay for around £140 (who buys them in a mystery but I've tracked a few that have been bid up to £150.

I got one from Orange store who flog them for £80 with £20 compulsory top up, its not as good as this deal but may be worth a look if there's no stock and you want one.

How is the seller a fool?

That would be the buyer who agree's to buy it at that price, but that said,a lot of these phones are going abroad,Russia,Ukraine etc and they aren't available to buy over there so those buyers are happy to pay that amount

Wouldnt bother with the hassle myself..

Say it *did* sell for £140....
Phone = £100
2.3 Upgrade (free)
Paypal Charges of 3.4% = £4.76
Ebay fees (insertion free / Final value @ 10% / no features) = £14.00

Profit = 140 - (100 + 14 + 4.76) = £21.24

And thats not counting being out of pocket, the effort to upgrade, delivery hassle etc etc. Just not worth it IMHO.

You don't need to top up as it costs £109.99 with compulsary top up. Should the title of this thread not be changed to reflect the true cost of £109.99 (albeit with £10 Argos voucher thrown in)

Good for the price just remember its an arm6 phone like most of the cheaper ones. Personally I'm waiting for the arm7 ones to come down in price which run the latest stuff.

Exactly,it costs £109.99,so why would you need to add another item to get the free argos voucher?

Before the free argos voucher offer the phone was £10 cheaper,so basically its the same overall cost now though instead of having the £10 still in your pocket it is invested in a £10 argos voucher

The title is completely wrong, the OP has included the £10 argos voucher as part of the offer so the price should definately state £109.99

Final value fees would only be £7.17 then 20p for a buy it now listing fee, plus could be a power seller getting up to a further 30% discount on fees, but even without that it'd be closer to £28 per phone sold, then they have the £10 or £20 credit to play around with,

Wouldn't take too long to buy a dozen, upgrade them and make a nice profit
