True - but not for this website. Although are a group of Carphone Warehouse but still people have different preferences and they have limitations to buy from a website....So I posted the same. I already mentioned in my notes that its a similar deal but different website. hope it clarifies

Is there any other bastewrd son of carphone warehouse who is selling the SanFran at this SAME price, so that yet ANOTHER deal can be posted on it?

Hi peeps, does anyone know if this is the oled version?

The only valid way you'd feel bad about seeing deals for this phone every day is if it were a constant reminder of the ballbreaking contract you'd signed up for, paying this much every 3 months to get a phone that's not that much better...

Still can't understand why Orange install the bloatware and branding, everyone hates it. I'm sure people don't buy orange contacts to avoid it!

Yes, excellent reasoning there, makes perfect sense. Of course there is the possibility that people find it rather pointless and perhaps against the nature of this site, to post not only the same deal, but the same price, and from what appears to be the same company, all within the healthy span of 4 marvellous days. But of course, I am sure its what you said.

Does anyone know why when I try to install one of the new 2.3 ROMS the installation aborts?

I do it in exactly the same way as how I install the 2.1 and 2.2 ROMS (via Clockwork) but whenever I try loading the 2.3 ROMS it just fails.

Paying for the phone upfront or taking out a long contract to get it for free. I'd rather go pay as you go thanks.

Do not buy this phone! I have had nothing but trouble with it. I know it is cheap but it is cheap for a reason. The screen has broke and is now flashing blue, the phone is ridiculously slow, the back cover is flimsy and has also broke.

I love the android os but I am going to get rid of this phone and upgrade to a more expensive model.
Best of luck - whatever you do...

Fair enough if you want to pay a lot more for a phone you will upgrade every 18 months because you haven't got the latest one.

The best GUI I agree but no Flash (as well as the other restrictions) and unless you jailbreak it you are owned by Apple and the networks who have paid to have you as an Apple & iPhone customer.

Even then you've paid a very high for the privilege to be as supposedly cool as every other person who has one.

Hammer, nail, head.

We're talking a 5-10p difference here with these. As I said in the other thread, creating new deals for the phone, when each company is just division of Carphone Warehouse is just cluttering up the archives of SF posts for people to go through.

We get the same questions in every one, with people wasting time giving the same answers. Hell, I've got the phone and think it's the best thing I've bought in years but I'm getting fed up with it being posted every day for such little money difference.
Just keep it in one thread (the one that's currently hottest of the week), and then update the description saying how it's 5p, yes 5p cheaper at this other retailer.

If a couple of easily ignored threads appearing amongst dozens on a site on the internet bother you guys so much then I heartily recommend speaking to your GP about what therapies are available to combat a clear case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

There's no need to resort to a hammer and nail to your head just yet.
#26
How is this a 'deal' when it's now this price at lots of other retailers.......sick of seeing this phone now
#27
we have it and its been good for my daughter who throws it about and unlocked in 5 minutes to three.
#28
come on, maybe Sholeo was only pointing out how absurd the iphone's price is when compared to this. must be what he meant.

anyway i'm going to start voting cold on "deals" that are not better than others already posted. or is this what the spam reporting button is for?

and i say this is a fan of this item too... bored of the "heat whoring" going on.

Show me an iPhone for this price and I'll consider it. The comparison is ludicrous.

No it most certainly is not what the spam reporting button is for, these threads are within site rules so spamming them will only get you in trouble. If you feel the site would be better without them, and would like the staff to amend site policy, kindly bog off and start a thread in the feedback section of the site. Some of us are getting bored of all the moaning!
#31
obviously, the site would be better without dozens of threads for the same item at the same price. what is that if not spam? alternative sellers should be part of the site structure. has no one ever suggested this? and where should i report being told to "bog off" please?

Please remember, logic seems to fly over the heads of a few people.
#33
yeah to be clear my last post wasn't an attack on the OP. this is a failing of the site itself. it's the same as would happen if you used off-the-shelf forum software to run a deals site. HUKD should be automatically (or manually when spotted by users) linking identical deals under some "alternative seller" system. I'm sure they have the staff skills to achieve this.. would be a massive improvement to the site and stop many of these silly arguments.

i would set a threshold where within say 1% price it gets merged.

What would stop these silly arguments is if people would stop starting them in inappropriate places. How is your threadspoiling moaning any less 'spam' than a duplicate price deal? If you want to discuss it, discuss it in feedback, there are a whole host of regulars who hang out there who will discuss it with you at great length, and you will get admin attention (you won't get it here) which is the only way anything's going to change in your favour.

Deal threads are for discussing deals, not site policy, to complain about spamming here is pure hypocrisy.
#35
Actually the comments section is here to discuss the nature of teh deal, and considering this is the 5th iteration of this same thing within 4 days, it only seems appropriate to mention that, i.e. not being a deal at all.

The appropriate thing to do would be to provide links to the other deals you've come across, you know, in a way that would actually help others, vote cold if you wish, then take your rant where somebody might care.

Fine, but don't try and claim you're working towards a better website, the opposite has been clearly demonstrated, thanks!

I do not seem to have the time to post much on this excellent informative site. However I do get fed up with people posting messages which have no real connection to the item being mentioned. I would like to read reviews / comments based on a factual account of the item, which would help me to decide whether or not to buy the item. We all have our budget to buy any item ,whether a phone or a fridge. How we choose to spend that money is a matter of personal choice based on research via reviews on sites such as this. We all know that you can get a "lemon" of any item, so one that breaks is not neccessarily meaning they all do. PLEASE stick to posting meaningfull information, that we all can evaluate and use to reach a sensible conclusion.
