Don't know if it's already been posted but I just got an OSF for £79.99 and it included a free £10 top-up, making the phone just £69.99 (that's the cheapest I've seen it). UPDATE: It now seems that some people are getting the phone for £74,99 - and the top-up making it £64,99!

I called Orange sales on 0800 801080 and gave them the number on the back of an old Orange sim card. The salesperson told me the phone was £109 but he could let me have it for £79.99 and the price included a free £10 top up (and free delivery).

Got the phone today, called Orange on 0800 079 0006, they took some details then told me the £10 will be added in 2-3 working days. UPDATE; Money is on the phone today - much quicker than they said it would take.

Just thought I'd let some fellow hukdealers know about this in case they are looking to buy this phone. Hope it helps.

p.s Sorry if this is a jumbled mess - first timer.

What the current situation with rooting the latest OSF.

I believe some of the new ones with Build Version 10 are having some issues when trying to install custom roms.
#6
You did well OP considering Orange are not selling the phone for the normal £99 plus £10 top up - the offer they have had for last few weeks is the cost of handset is £94 and you must now top up by £20. It is true that you can still get a £30 loyalty discount (if you are lucky).
#7
No problems with rooting both versions, xxxx8 is the OLED phone and xxx10 is the TFT (same as apple both Capacitive). The numbers are build numbers denoting which screen is used because its almost impossible to tell with the naked eye. Both phones are very good and and Jap Jellyfish; build works with either. Read the instructions 1.unlock it 2. install clockwork 3.install custom rom of your choice.

Yes. I was really pleased to get it for this price - and the free topup was the icing on the cake. However, I am a bit worried about your comment re build 10 tho; how can I find out what this one is? It just says 'SF TFT from Orange JT (Built)'. Does this mean I won't be able to unlock it?

Just read the "original" post, I thought they had actually started asking for £79.99 in the shop, was about to use the SIM I got last time I got £30 to get another £30 off, ie £49.99!!

Now that would be HOT!.

Was going to go for this phone on Orange Perk but this looks like a better deal. Thanks.

You will be able to unlock but some have had issues updating to Froyo 2.2 - attached a link below.

You will be able to unlock it. It is when you come to flash a rom that problems can occur. Some B10's don't like custom roms and the touchscreens on these only work properly on original rom. There is no ryme or reason. This is being widely reported on the mocado forum.

the existing customer deal for this price was posted months ago, see the thread with about 4000 heat total.

looks good I hope its below £200 this will blow the market apart.

Just make sure you save a back up of the original before you install the new rom

i had a version 10 and lucky for me it went ok when rooting. I thought the problem was with the G1 or G2 versioning? using sw Mr Pigfish to check what your phine has. if its G1 then ok if not then hold off

It will probably be fine rooting and installing a custom rom,it is only a small minority of people who have ran into problems with it on the 10 version

I can tell the difference in normal indoor lighting conditions from about 10 metres away. In dark conditions with a clear line of sight I could tell one from the other at 30.

They are both good though.

I have often wondered if 99% of HUKD have an Onkyo amp, £10 freeview box, generic 32" hd ready £230 'bargain' TV set, San Francisco phone, and eat whatever tesco have on 'double the difference' vs ASDA this week while using a fleshlight

I bought 3 of these at xmas... all white TFT capacitive screens, I have modded them several times ....currently running Japanese Jelly Fish RLS9. Once Clockwork recovery is installed you can install whichever Custom rom you fancy...if it locks up or you don't like it install another.
Go here for the roms :

If it was that simple why all the confusion, and the need to check settings etc?

I have just ordered one and been told by the salesman that this is the OLED version NOT the TFT. Is it the OLED version which has the better screen I think.

lol.X) Well of the above I've only got the SF (and probably most of the Asda/Tesco deals), but thanks to hukdealers I have easily saved at least a couple of thousand pounds over the last two years.

And, it's not just about bargain prices on hukd - there are a lot of well-informed people who can tell us if it's something worth having.
Not only that but there are people in the forums who give all sorts of good advice - only recently someone called 'Fujioka' helped me repair a broken laptop.

I really like this website, and if I can join in the helping each other then all to the good.

From orange? I wouldn't go by what their sales person would tell you. I very much doubt it is OLED

I see by your second post you must have got through on the 0800 number:)

I will be well surprised if you get an OLED. The paperwork I got with mine says it's a TFT . As far as I know the OLED is better, but some people say there is not much difference.

I wouldn't trust anything Orange say. It will be a TFT screen. ZTE stopped making them with OLED screens a while ago. Still a good phone though.

Yeah I think half of HUKD must own a San Fran but the funny thing is I'm still yet to see another person on the street with one yet!

Absolute nightmare, I remember now why I hate Orange so much. Despite clearly stating I wanted a BLACK phone, they are sending me out a WHITE one and will not cancel the order despite ME ringing THEM back within 5 minutes of placing the order. I now have to wait 10 Working Days for my refund.

Ooo.....nasty. It might be worth re-ordering though - especially if you have a look at the silly prices Amazon are asking for this phone (£140- 160).

OK, I just got called back by the salesman. The White one is OLED and the Grey one is TFT. I have cancelled my order as a white one is a bit effeminate for me and they wont swap it for a grey one unless I refuse delivery from the courier etc and wait 10 days.

Bunch of jokers is what Orange are.
