Seems a good price for a decent budget android phone., brand new with 12 month warranty. Was going to buy one of the extra budget phones, but maybe this is worth the £24 extra.

I notice all the cold voters didn't provide a link to a better price, or a better phone at the same price. Unsurprisingly.

Have to agree, picked up the TMobile Vivacity (same phone, different case) for £39 a few months back for 9 year old son's birthday. Its a fine phone for that age group (could do with a bit more memory), but I dont think I would pay £60+ for it if I had to replace it.

A decent phone for a good price, only signficant issue is the battery life. If you are heavy user then probably best to look elsewhere. Still voted hot.

Day to day use about the same performance wise, but that big screen on the G300 makes a big difference - it feels faster and more capable

voted hot, my wife using version I since 2 years now, and work like a charm ..
check spec ..as older version didn't allow conference calls using camera and sure it runs 3D games .. but not high end one .. but again that was the old one

Had this phone was brilliant value for money in its day. Does not compare to g300-g300 far superior in the same price range. San Francisco dated, go for g300

100% agree
meanwhile are you sure about the video calls? i was not able to do that in earlier versions .. when you try to run skype or other similar softwares it was always a struggle and my camera view always was blacked with no picture.. but again that was in the previous version of the phone.. and that was really the only negative experience .. if they fixed that, it will be really the perfect smartphone for ordinary use for such price

As far as I can see the G300 is a better phone but then it is about 30 quid more

I have this phone I brought it March for £75 (£5 off due to phone fund+£20 M&S gift vouchers).
Its a nice phone a big feature which is overlooked by a lot of people is Signal Boost. It lets you make calls over WiFi. Ideal if you live in a iffy signal location or older thick walled house like me. Without it if I walk from one end of my house (or even room to room) to the other I would normally lose signal. With Signal Boost it just switches over to WiFi if I hit a black spot.

Orange have it listed at £69.99 which if your already with Orange pay as you go might work out cheaper when using phone fund.

Do you have a link for the vivacity for £39, sounds like a good price.

Anybody know how much memory the SFII has, the I version only has about 190Mb, and I ran out of room ages ago...

Yeah this was my only problem with the first SF, been constantly deleting/installing new apps since about a month after I got it. ZTE site has the new one listed at 512mb. Not amazing, but a hell of a lot better than before.

Mine has come apart, screen broken, turns off randomly after 1.5 years. But I suppose for the price, it was fine. You realise how much better phones are out there, like the Lumia 800 when you get it

Looking for phone for SWMBO and saw the G300 in Voda store at the w'end. I think the G300 might be a tad too big for her. She'll use it for i) occasional texts ii) a few calls iii) a little internet. I'm happily with Giff Gaff and would put her on £5 monthly - big spender me? Too damn right!

Can anyone suggest a small Android phone that might fit the bill and is easily unlocked. Max say £125.
Thanks

T-mobile Vivacity has been discontinued. I was unable to find one recently though managed to find a G300 in Asda for £79 having missed the Tesco £60 offer.

They only seem big at first. Then you get used to them and after that everything else seems titchy. I'd go for the G300.

Stick her on Ovivo which gives 100 mins + 100 texts + 200 Mb of data for free every month. The no contract, just a tenner for the sim upfront which you get back in call credit. No brainer.........

You can also get this for £79.99 with £10 topup at the Orange site with WeSC Headphones, not sure if they are any good for the extra moolah though.

Be careful using discount codes with Very. I've just learned today in this thread, that Very will take the money from your account if/when they find you have used a voucher/discount code that was not supplied to you directly. They will even do this after you have purchased and paid apparently!

There do seem to be a lot of people who have had problems with very on this forum, especially using codes. Personally I would be very wary of it, especially as they seem to be able to charge you for it retrospectively, as you say. Even if people believe it is illegal, who wants the hassle of having to chase them, possibly through the courts. I'd prefer a deal where you pay the price up front with a debit card or whatever, not where you are setting up a credit account.

Got to give this heat, had a osf then osf2 now g300 but the g300 just blows the osf2 away better battery and size, believe me if you buy the osf2 you will regret not getting the g300.
