Oooh, this looks good. I have a C500 already but it is dying I think. Really wanted the C600 but there are no free contract deals on that so this will do.

BUT I have never bought from BuyMobilePhones before. Are they good, and reliable? Are they not overly fussy with the whole cashback thing?

Ta!

I've not heard any bad feedback from them, but I've not really heard any feedback from them which is strange because they've always had good deals... I don't know why people don't comment on them at all. They seem to be keeping themselves out of trouble.

I'll do some google research on it for you.

Couldn't find many reviews.

MSE
Hi MrLew

well having now been paid out (more or less) i'd pretty much recommend buymobilephones.net.

the short version...
* they do pay out (albeit with discrepency over figures - see below),
* they pay out quicker than most (after 6 months),
* unlike many others you only have to send in ONE cashback claim
* they are reasonably good at answering queries.

The long version......

well can report that i did get some money back...but not sure if they left me a couple of quid short or not.
They promise 10 months line rental back which, for my deal, should be either 10 x £25 (before VAT) or 10 x £30 (incl VAT).

I wasn't sure whether they'd include VAT on the cashback or not but I got got a cheque for £270 which is somewhere in between.......

The receipt on it said i'd been given 10 x £22.9 plus £40 VAT - hence £270.
Since they have included VAT in the cashback I think they still owe me £30. The woman who does the refunds is away on holiday so am waiting for her to get back to me....

Having said even if it's £30 short i still think this deal is OK. Especially as they pay out so early and you only have to send in one cashback form. I've done this before with onestopphoneshop but had to send in three sets of claims which was a bit of a pain and didn't get all the cashback till the end of the contract.

I did have to phone buymobile a couple of times to chivvy them along (hadn't noticed the 56-day waiting period) but they seemed fairly helpful. When i first called (July) they confirmed they'd received my documents and said I would get paid but it would take a while as they had a back-log.... I called a couple more times...on the last occasion the finance woman said she'd just seen my paperwork on her desk and would get it in the post that night - which she did...am only sorry i didn't go over the figures with her.

Considering my average bill is rarely more than £30, then all my bills up to now have been paid by the cashback and i've still got a few quid left over.

If I can squeeze another £30 out of them then so much the better but as i say i think it's still a pretty good deal for 600 xnet minutes and more texts than I can cope with each month.

Yes it's on 3 but living in south wales i've found the reception for 3 is good and i've had few problems - it's certainly better than Orange was.

The only downside is the actual phone...Motorola C975 - which has lots of gizmos (inc good camera) but is like lugging housebrick around with me and certainly gets lots of laughs from my mates. At least no-one's tried to nick it yet (probably haven't got the strength) but am looking round now for a different phone to use up the rest of the contract.

Unless I can find a better deal I'll be going back to buymobile next feb when contract is up...they've certainly got some good deals going at the moment...they just need to sort out their cashback payments...

Hope that helps

Andy

Sorry guys and gals but the phones are all sold out. I got one on Sunday (arrived today) but by Monday they were all gone so I was suprised to see it on the hduk frontpage because its no longer available.

I did post it over at the MSE forums but some admin fool deleted the offer without reading it properly and said it had a referal link which wasn't true at all.

Think I'll convert to HDUK forums from now on.

I have looked them up on the companies house website, and unless I am reading it wrongly the company was only registered this year.

Is that right?

They've been going for at least a year I think, because I remember finding deals with them about this time last year.

Hi Ought

You said you would like th SPVC600,

Buy mobile have it on an 18 month contract for £30, with 16 months free, (option of free broadband?) and £20 via quid co......

Total cost would then be £40. for 18 months ( about £2.25 PER MONTH)

Hope this help

Sorry Ought

Just checked tonight, and they appear to have downgraded the offer to only 11 month free on 18 month contract, maybe I just looked at the wrong time yesterday...

Thanks Ekktok. Sounds like it was a good deal. THoughI am still reluctant to use buymobilephones.net when I know so little about them.

I really could do with a new Windows Mobile based Smartphone... ;o)
