This is more of a heads up for anyone who doesn't know that the price plans have been updated. I hope this doesn't get slated as i feel i am just sharing info with you lovely lot! :)

iPhone 35 24mth plan includes
400 minutes
unlimited texts
750MB Mobile Internet
Answer Phone
Magic Numbers
unlimited Wi-Fi *
sat nav with Orange Maps
50 photo messages (Actual MMS, unlike Three who use "Picture Mail"!)
* Fair usage policy of 750MB/Month applies to BT Openzone Wi-Fi. See terms for full details.

The satnav service is £5 a month extra and 50 MMS a month is also £5/month so i switched my 600mins tariff (ordered last week) over to this as i felt that i would rather have the extras rather than 200 more minutes. In addition the cap on the 600min plan is 500mb. With this plan you get an extra 250MB! :-)

The price is exactly the same as the 600mins deal so win-win for me!

Also, don't forget £40 back through Quidco.

NIce Deal, ;)

great deal, thanks.

the tesco deal is for £35 per month for 12 months, yes it costs £109 more to start with but still better off then paying £35 for extra 12 months
#4
I like orange over tesco for my phone. nice deal

What does asterix next to 'unlimited wi fi' refer to?

On 3 i got iPhone 4 for £99. Then £30 a month 500 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited 3-3, 1gb Internet and 120 picture messages. Far better then this deal!
#7
I can explain to you in-depth why i would not go back to Three! i was originally on the Three deal and the customer service was so shocking that i told them to shove their cheaper tariff and give me my PAC code. i would rather spend more to get good service. Good luck to you if you ever need to call customer service. In fact, i wrote a 4 page letter to the chief exec office and they wrote/called back with an apology for how they treated me.

With regards to Three Network.... .. your picture messages are not MMS. They are email picture messages. Careful with that one.

£35 for 400 minutes? And that's good?
#12
I don't see how losing 200 minutes for that is a good deal, and you are incorrect that the cap is 500mb as if you looked for the equivalent 600 min £35/month contract it is also 750mb so I've voted cold.
#13
very nice

I understand why you have done this but what is orange maps, if its a good satnav service its well worth it, but no matter where you are you dont always get a 3g / edge singal? Orange is well better than O2 where im from so, ill stick to ORANGE

I would probably go for this. Just wondering how much do I have to pay for using Navigation system? and how much does that cost?
#17
24 months contracts are a joke though
#18
Looks good. Question: what's the orange sat nav like? never used on a mobile - will it work reliably for a car journey?
#19
Also 40pounds cashback from Quidco for new pay monthly iphone contracts
#20
owww... now thats tempting. Have not bothered to change my old 3G as my tariff is really good out of contract, but this is worth a serious look.

Just had a mate round with his new iphone 4 and it's a lovely phone, only problem was, he had to connect his phone to my internet cod there was no O2 signal, yet I live in the middle of town with a full Orange 3G signal. He's not impressed with O2 but they let him early upgrade so stuck with them.

Orange did buy out another mates contract tho for £300 if he took out a new contract and gave back his 3Gs...... worth an ask instore if anyone wants to change.

Why should you pay £5 a month for sat nav when co pilot is only £20ish?

that's a good deal i would have got this deal with 3 but 3 conned me with the mifi deal this week, 3 are liers and cheats, i'm not having a go at you my friend but beware, 3 advertised a mifi pay as you go deal with a free £10 starter included for £39.99 this week so alot of poeple brought them in good faith myself included but when they were delivered there was no £10 starter with it and 3 say it's not thier problem and if you dont like it return it within 14 days, go for the orange deal and you wont get robbed, three more like thiefs

Agreed, CoPilot is just a one off cost and provides a pretty damn good sat-nav service.
One thing that absolutely stuns me with Apple and new iPhones is the fact that the pricing is ridiculously high for what you actually get in terms of the hardware update, pair this with the network providers having VERY little leeway on pricing plans for them, no matter how much you try to drive them down.

I managed to get a HTC Desire as an upgrade on my current network provider for £20p/m (which was a "downgraded" plan from my old contract of £30p/m)
24 Month Contract
300 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Mobile Internet
With a one off charge of £5.45!

The cheapest I've found it with a free phone is £30p/m - 24 month contract - So I saved £234.55 over the phone sacrificing 300 minutes.

What I'm saying is sometimes the internet "best deals!" are not as good as you can get over the phone, and it's always worth the 15 minutes of your time to try to bargain down your costs, they're all free-phone, obviously if you switch between providers all the time there is not much of a leg to stand on, but if you are in the position of upgrading, it's worth a shot! ;)
#24
£60 a year for a Sat Nav service? What a rip off. Co-pilot is a £20 download.
#25
Wht not just jailbreak, then get Co-Pilot/Tom Tom for zilch?
#26
Anyone actually tried getting hold off an iphone 4 from tesco recently ?? almost impossible up here in fife-scotland !!
#27
I am currently in the market for a new phone. My contact with Orange runs out in Sept. Agreed, for pricing, Tesco is a far better deal. However I've not used Tesco and I know Orange have superb Customer Service.

Ontop of that I'd lose my Orange Wed if I went elsewhere, which over the year will save me a big chunk of £££.

Don't forget Quidco, as im certain I read there's £40 cashback on all IPhone deals with Orange and £80 and a free XBox Arcade for those signing upto a 24month contract I believe (£80 and Xbox not eligible if getting an IPhone though)

Poor deal. Sat Nav is overpriced and few will use the MMS regularly.
Heres a better way of buying an iphone 4:
Buy an iphone 4 from applewith quidco for £484 delivered.
Go to quidco and by vodafone iphone sim only tarriff at £20 per month (12 months, 600 mins, unlimited txts and 1GB internet) with £100 cashback.

Total costs after 12 months are: phone £484 + contract £240 - quidco £100= £624 at which point ebay the phone for £350 so you will have paid £274 for 12 months use with the iphone with more minutes and are now not tied in for another 12 months with a phone with is likely to be superceeded in a year with a new model.

Alternatively pay £959 for this deal, sell the phone in 24 months for £250 and you have paid £709 and had to have an outdated phone for the second year of the contact (£354.5 per year)

Very sound advice I feel but Quidco doesn't include iPhone 4, only problem with it

Why not go Android and pay zilch for Satnav, legitimately :)

I tried in Suffolk yesterday and was told the only way you can get one is to keep ringing up and hoping that a batch (usually of two or three / fortnight) has just arrived.

I asked about ordering over the web and just waiting, but I was advised not to do this as they apparently let them go to the Customers that call, first!

The poor guy at Tesco must spend all-day every day answering the phone and being asked the same question.
#33
I've looked at a number of 24-months deals, but they are all considerably higher than the Tesco deal - many brushing £900!!!

This sounds rather like you're promoting theft.

I'm an Android convert and I'd never go back to Apple. HTC Desire is a far better option than iPhone4 in my opinion. The only downside for me is that there's not as many apps but all the major ones are there.

Same here, why anyone would choose to pay at least £99 for this phone on top of a 2 year £35-£40 per month contract is beyond me, The desire does everything this does and more and at £20 per month with free phone. Phones with the android operatin system outsold all other smartphones in the USA in the last quarter, this first time blackberry was not top since 2007. Lets face it Google will rule the world one day and this is the start lol

24 months is a long time when a new batch of phones are due out Q4 2010, Desire HD etc etc

As someone who's owned several Apple products for almost 10 years now I can completely agree with that. The cost of an iPhone does not match up with the value of other handsets. I love that the Android market is unrestricted too.
