Hi,

wanted to share this, hope of some use to somebody after all the deals you have given me.

This is the poor mans IPhone, but better network for web acccess. As it has HSDPA and 3 G

I rang up and get retentions and after saying was going to leave (key point) thye gave me the phone instead of £49.99 and reduced my line to £30 with 400mins anytime, 500 txt and as its online account MMS is counted as 4 SMS

"This is the poor mans IPhone"

Have to laugh - this is totally ignorant and factually incorrect statement...

These devices from HTC have been around for a good 5 years before the IPhone and this is the latest generation. Not into Iphone bashing, think its lovely, but the two devices do different things in different ways and suit different people.

Great phone with the added bonus of GPS integrated (will run tomtom flawlessly) and you wont leave it in the car for theives to steal because its your phone! Also push emai (including hotmail) delivers your mail instantly wherever you are for free (network charges apply).

Great phone, shame about the ill-informed comment. Not voted.

Try getting your N95 to run tomtom! :-D
#4
Iphone is way better8-)
#5
Having played with both, I'd take this over an Iphone anyday.
#6
i have this phone and its great gps is superb with tomtom
#7
yeah - the Iphone is great at GPS, 3 Meg mobile broadband and instant hotmail....not

horses for courses...
#8
Sorry was meant to be tongue in cheek... reason I said poor man Iphone was against the cost and what I felt was similar products. Free or £270...
I would have thought most people would check before anyhow..
Ah well......
#9
Oh should have also said comes with free Copilot. So no need for TomTom.
#10
debully i got n95 and tomtom does run on it fine and its the latest version all updated cameras etc.
#11
Oh good - they've finally fixed it. Will put it on the wife's phone now  Thanks for the heads-up.
#12
I didnt think tomtom worked with the inbuilt GPS on the N95 ??
#13
I called and got samsung armani, 600 mins, 1000txts, unlimited weekend calls for £20 a month! Not bad eh?
#14
I got this phone back in Ocober last year for free with Sat Nav software, 500 Mins, 500 Txtx, Unlimted o2 to o2 calls and unlimited data for £32.50 a month, so there are deals to suit everyone, personally i'l go for deal i got but with a Stella instead or Orbit 2 as you'll need unlited data as these things eat them, great phone mind, camera could be better IMO
#15
I have this phone and its brilliant.

For those others who have it though, does anyone else have a serious problem with extremely long TTFF (Time To First Fix) for the GPS? It takes upwards of 20 minutes for me to get a GPS lock each time I start the GPS software...

you have to stop moving around so much ;) i use an external GPS device for my tytn (the prior version of this phone) and i get a lock in about 15-30 seconds. just hold it out in the open, don't move it, it works things out super fast. then you can move it around and do what you wish...
#18
I had the TyTn chamelion as well, and exactly the same experience with an external GPS - the only problems I've had are with the internal GPS of the new phone. I literally leave it out in the open for 10 minutes, and still no first fix...

Sorry, my mistake, i was reffering to the first Orbit, seems an OK deal but you should never need to pay for a phone when on over a £30 a month contract IMO, bar the Iphone, but Apple new suckers would pay that!
#20
Well considering this phone is around £500 sim free, it is not entirely surprising that you do need to pay for it, even on an over £30 PM contract.

I can't wait to get my hands on this baby :whistling:

Now the Q is, will SE Xperia X1oust Apple's iPhone?

No because windows mobile is stinky and ugly :p
#23
Depends what you want it for - WM might be "stinky and ugly" but it still offers some of the best solutions for business use of smartphones/PDAs....direct push technology being probably the most significant...
#24
do you use the quick gps programme, my gets a fix in under a minute
