I know this is a stupid noob question, but what is the difference between EA Access (which I have) and Origin Access?
EA access is xbox, origin access is PC.

If it would work on a Mac I'd be so tempted. I can dual boot but spend most of my time in macos these days

I'd rather have these old games on gog for £5 each than have to rely on EA servers. They'll probably put the price up once battlefield gets added and then they'll shut it down in 12 months as people realise they want to own the game, not just rent a service from the most hated companies in the world.
That's nice except none of these games are coming to GOG anytime soon. Personally I think Origin Access is a solid deal, but not for me since I already a bunch of those games.

99p is what this farce should be
Oh come on, it really isn't that bad. There have been far worse games than this over the last couple of years and most of those cost way more than £4.49.

I played the original ME five times! This one, I played 2 hours and couldn't take it anymore!

Good price, not sure what the cold voters are smoking. Some people think the voting buttons are used to convey their opinion on the game I think. Pro tip: they're not.
This is a huge issue for me on this site. I have often wondered whether HUKD should make the cold button prompt a box where the cold voter has to provide evidence of where they have seen the same product/item/service cheaper than the current deal. Since if you are voting cold, then you must have seen it cheaper surely confused

If you dislike a product, the likelihood is that no matter the price, you are going to say it's cold. So if you don't like it, don't vote either way (nerd)
moazthefreeman
Buy the first game for cheaper, it's literally better in every way.
This is a good price though, but it's better to get Origin Access for £4 a month and finish this game if you're not going to play it after that. And you'll have access to other games like Unravelled.

Its better in every way? So the the game in the OP has even worse ledge detection? I'd plummeted to my death countless times because faith didnt detect she could grab the ledge.
99p is what this farce should be

Awesome game and one that took over 100 hours to complete.
Thanks for all the heat ,I was a little sceptical to see how this went.
Remember that we vote on the deal not if you liked the game or not.
Anyone who prefers ME:A over ME3 may need to rethink their life. That's not to say it's catastrophic -- it's still an ok game -- but it doesn't hold a candle to the previous games.

Initially I tried but did not like the game with some 10 hours of play time. I then came back to the game after a month or so and now I am totally hooked! It is rather slow to start unlike ME3, but then picks up quite nicely later. Definitely worth £25.

I completed 1, tried 2 and got annoyed that they changed all the controls lol. Also struggled to get into these style of games but love the combat.

Do you prefer Mass Effect 3 or this? I haven't tried 3 yet but I love this!

I have stopped playing both a while ago. Overwatch is much more enjoyable overall.

wierd coz i find overwatch dull and boring, enjoyable? maybe if you are 5y old with zero experience in fps , it's the most overhyped game ever. in the other hard battlefield 1 like no other game on market gives you the feel of total war destruction. and single player in titanfall 12 is siml,y brillant

For me, the multiplayer on Overwatch is so addictive even though the game annoys me at times. I love the titanfall 2 multiplayer yet for some reason it's not that type of multiplayer that I keep coming back to.

Neither have a scratch on CS: GO when it comes down to learning curves or E-sports. :D

I think in Ovisan's defence Overwatch follows that more e-sports kind of gaming, like counter strike, where you can endlessly play games and feel your skill increasing. In Battlefield in particular you'll always get that variance of messy games and random unavoidable death in multiplayer.

I enjoy all 3 for all different reasons, but it's all personal preference.

Anybody else only getting 30 frames per second on this game? My rig is mid-upper range, but....maybe its the port perhaps?
This was only released on PC, so it's not ported from anywhere. Doesn't meant there isn't some arbitrary restriction on the frame rate for some reason though!
Hmm, after a quick google, there's plenty that've had the same issue. Possible help here:http://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Medal-Of-Honor-Games/MoH-Pacific-Assault-30fps-cap/m-p/5256193#M848

for anyone that hasn't played battlefield 3. I highly recommend u get it. Its still alive on pc which shows just how good a game it was and at that price for premium u can't go wrong.

Does it have many online players? And which version would be most active? That or battlefield 1? Stopped buying call of duty games due to dead online servers after a couple months.
does the sims3 stuff ever go on sale!?

does anyone know if the Deluxe Edition comes with the expansion maps pack or do i have to buy them individually ?

It's not so much that you can play it for 10 hours. You can only play a certain part of the game which caps off after around 2 and a half hours.

Planning on buying this game in preparation of my new PC arriving this week, are the expansions quality or would most recommend just buying the vanilla game?

Also, is season pass just premium pass? I assume this is the game and all expansions?

The DLC is amazing. If you are planning on spending alot of time on this game then you may as well jump in and get the full package.

Note, it's actually 50p cheaper to buy the game and the premium pass separately.

£19.99 + £31.99 = £51.99
Ultimate Edition = £52.49

I know you get the little skins and stuff in the ultimate edition, but they do nothing.

Great game, doesnt get any where near enough credit it should. Both games released with FREE dlc packs
Rare in the gaming industry
Titanfall (1) wasn't released with free DLC, they made the decision after 18 months or so when the season pass became free.
A decision out of necessity rather than generosity. They have never been able to achieve a player population large enough that they could split it with a season pass.

Well worth checking out for free though. It's nice they include the training and the first level so you can practice wall sliding without getting insta-deleted :).
Awesome game, just got the platinum (that damn gauntlet leader board...) and just getting into the multiplayer. Perfect excuse!

Loved this game back in the day, the whole theme of the Toy factory and automatons was such a wonderful story.
However the sequel was a direct continuation of Syberia 1 - so I'm not sure this is any good to someone picking it up halfway through a fabulous story. It would be like picking up on the Harry Potter series halfway through.
Not quite - I have this on Steam, and there is a "Previously in Syberia" section with a potted run through of the first game.
Third one is due out soon....
(Problem is I need to get this one working under Wine somehow)
There's a third one on the way?! oh wow. Can't wait.
I had the originals back in the day - there wasn't any "previously on Syberia" section on those, so didn't realise. Still would have been nicer if they just gave both as they are equally as good. :)

Didn't realise there was such finickety rules!

I couldn't find this deal anywhere on HotUKDeals, and only found it by looking in Origin. I'm sure other people would also like this deal highlighted to them.

This debate comes up EVERY time. It's tedious. If people don't like you posting it as a separate item then they have the free choice to jog on from this specific post.

I for one hadn't seen this deal and been after the game so thanks for posting!!

Decent game so far
Not completely impressed - the gameplay is very linear and repetitive. Unlike similar games in action, adventure, shooter I find myself a bit bored. Imo worth 10 but not more

Agreed, repetition similar to Battlefront - for obvious reasons

origin logoCompany History of Origin

Electronic Arts is one of the biggest names in gaming, and are the software firm responsible for huge titles like FIFA, Need for Speed and the Sims. Origin is the company's online sales platform and the best place to download any of EA's latest games. The platform has been around in some form since 2005, but has been known as Origin since 2011, when it was re-launched to distribute the Battlefield Expansion Pack. Now it is the easiest way to download new PC releases and add-ons for EA’s titles.

All of EA’s games can be downloaded at the Origin online shop at www.origin.com. The Origin platform needs to be downloaded onto your Mac or PC before you can use the service.

Ordering at Origin.com

To make a purchase online, all customers need to create an Origin Account. You just need to enter a few details and choose whether to receive the Origin Newsletter or not. Now you can complete your purchase as normal. The Origin software will be downloaded with your first purchase or separately at the download page.

Origin’s Loyalty Scheme

Origin Access is a membership only service that provides access to The Vault – a collection of games that can be played as much as you want – for a monthly amount. Members can also play upcoming EA games before they are released to the public and receive an automatic discount on new games, pre-orders, FIFA points and expansion packs.

Origin Access also takes the form of a social network, allowing members to interact with each other at the EA Access board. You can track what your contacts have purchased and what they are playing, exchange tips and seek support from EA staff.

Product categories at Origin.com

The Origin online store stocks the following product categories:

  • PC Games – This is the core of the Origin product range. PC games are divided into: action titles, adventures, MMO, online, puzzle, racing, RPG, shooter, simulation, sports games and strategy titles.
  • Free games – You can also download a selection of free games by EA. These include full versions, trials or demos and betas of popular titles.
  • Mac Games – Origin also stocks selected titles for the Apple Mac. This includes popular titles like the Sims, Sim City and RPGs like Dragon Age.

When shopping on the Origin store, customers can filter out their results. Products can be filtered by genre, price point, franchise, availability, rating, publisher, developer, number of players and language. So finding the title you want should be easy.

Origin is not exclusively a platform for games by Electronic Arts. Other brands are represented on the site, including:

  • Capcom
  • Codemasters
  • Focus Home Interactive
  • Paradox Interactive
  • Ubisoft
  • Nordic Games
  • Deep Silver

Sales at Origin.com

The Deals section is the best place to look for Origin’s current reductions, with a wide range of titles under £5, £10 and £20 to choose from, as well as on the house titles.

Every November, Origin also takes part in the Black Friday retail event, which kick starts the festive shopping season. In the past, Origin have actually jumped the gun, announcing their Black Friday deals a few days earlier than other gaming retailers, so keep your eyes peeled before the day itself.

Payment Methods on Origin.com

Payment methods supported by Origin include: VISA, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Paysafecard, PayPal, Discover Card, Ukash, EA Cash Card and the EA Wallet.

Shipping Options from Origin.com

All Origin products are downloadable and nothing is sent via post. To download games, all you need to do is install the Origin software. You can shop via that software itself or head to the website.

All games will be downloaded into your own My Games library on your computer. In some cases, it might be necessary to customise your Origin account to ensure that payments are not made by family members. In situations like this, you can securely save your payment information.

To make your payments secure, you need to uncheck the “save payment” tab on the checkout page. Whenever you make a purchase the system will request your card details, instead of automating the payments process.

Returning Items to Origin

Origin offers full refunds on all titles downloaded from their system under their Great Game Guarantee.

However, shoppers should be aware that not all Origin stocked titles are covered by the guarantee. Not all third party suppliers have chosen to participate. At the checkout, you can see whether your product is covered or not.

You can return any item and claim a full refund, but you must do so up to 24 hours after first launching the game, or within 7 days of making the purchase.

  1. To request a refund, head to the “order history” section of your Origin Account.
  2. Select “Request a Refund” next to the product in question.
  3. Now, complete the Refund Request Form and press “Submit”.
  4. Within 48 hours, Origin will get back to you and a refund should be provided within 10 days.

The firm recommends that you use the online support tool for Mac and PC to ask most questions.

You could also try asking the EA support team via Twitter or give them a call on their hotline 0203 0141818 (9:00-21:00 from Monday to Friday, standard call charges apply)
