I am a numpty around trainers, I thought a Penguin was a chocolate bar - if I buy these for my son, are they a brand he will be ashamed to wear out of the house?

If your son has size 10 feet under 'Men' then I'd be a little worried pal!

Penguin is a respectable quirky brand. No idea if their trainers are any good. Like most I imagine they're eastern product with a badge.

Thanks, I think I'll steer clear then. :)

Penguin is a great brand, i've not tried their trainers but have tried their plimsoles and have lots of Penguin t-shirts.

It depends on what's your kid like. If he's one of those scallie type kids that you see on the streets nowadays, hanging out with a pair of trackies on and a hoodie then he'll love them. If he's got a bit of style in him then he'll hate them. Myself i'd stay well away from them, but each to his own :)

March him (or even without kicking and screaming!) into House of Fraser (could be other stores that stock though in N.Ireland that is about the only store I've found that does stock except the odd stuff in TK Maxx which normally look like seconds) and take a look around the Penguin store within the mens sections and let the prices scare him into liking these! So far anything I've had from the brand has been great quality even like the fragrance also (smells very very similar to One Million).

If he's worried about the brand, then I think you need to re-educate him!

No, not really. I certainly won't be buying anything at any price to indulge him, but, within my budget, I'd sooner get something he actually wants than something he really does not. Does that makes sense?
