That Mi line of products is pretty crazy. You might think this is the latest in a long line of jaw-droppingly inexpensive devices, and you’d be wrong. It’s at least the second-latest.

Like its forerunner the Mi Band, the 1S is compatible with both Android and iOS. It tracks heart rate, counts calories and steps, monitors your sleep, and will survive for up to half an hour under a meter of water if you try to drown it. All at a fraction the price of its similar competitors.

Pre-sale has begun and you may order it from multiple websites. I ordered 2 on gearbest

Damn you HUKD. Didn't think I wanted one of these until I saw this at £14. Bought.

What advantages does it offer over the older model ?

EDIT:- Wow that's really cheap for HR monitoring functions. Heat added!

Very tempted by this, been monitoring Xiaomi for a while waiting for the 1s but this is the first i've heard about the release.
#3
will this offer any form of continues heart rate monitoring.

Can't pay in UK pounds though? :(

Is the site trust worthy? or does any recommend any where else? been looking at these for a while.

They're US$15 RRP in China, so GearBest selling them for $21 is not bad, considering it includes shipping.

I don't think they'll go much cheaper than maybe $18-19 after it launches (shipped to the UK) so might as well buy one in the presale!

Be aware that the presale ends on the 19th Nov, and in the Q&A they have stated they will not ship until the pre-sale ends.

The band is officially released Wed 11-11 in China, so it might be that another merchant (like Bang Good) will be able to dispatch and send earlier than GearBest.

Aren't all kneejerk reactions 'instant' by their nature?

How come the pounds goes back to dollars when you try and pay with PayPal? Does this cost extra?

That would be the original Mi Band, no HR tracking. Still a nifty little product for the price though, I've still got mine. I will be getting the 1S though!

Though I won't be buying from GearBest, i've not heard the best of things (excuse the pun) I'd rather go with BangGood when they stock it!

You probably will actually - once you get used to fitness trackers you start competing with yourself to hit your goals and the HR feature is genuinely useful to make sure you're training in the right zones and not exceeding your limits. For £14 this is insanely good value - I didn't and don't resent paying £84 for my FitBit Charge HR.
