Islands of adventure is brilliant. My favourite ride of all the parks is there, The spiderman Ride. You really can't miss that ride.
#6

Anyone know if these tickets expire? or are they like the Disney ones. I am planning to go, but not next year.

the revenge of the mummy .... went on it six times in one day .... awesome ride and amazing scenery inside

You can only get the Virgin ones if you have booked a hoilday through them.

I think they are vaild till end of this year. Ring and see if you can use them next year. They are saying that they are going up 70% or so!

I just want to see TNA. :p

IoA was my Father's day treat last year, loved it. Was also the quietest of all the parks we visited so no queues. I liked the Hulk ride as it accelerates out the tunnel to begin with, the Spiderman one was technically excellent and I really enjoyed the Dueling Dragons. My son really liked the dinosaur section too. I didn't think the Harry Potter bit was its own theme park, just a section of IoA.

The whole of Universal is great, had a great night at the Hard Rock Cafe and walking round the CityWalk section at night was a treat. Would love to live locally to have that to visit regularly.

Going in september for my best friends wedding and have told her i will be going hopefully twice! :D

Is this the best deal for passes at the moment? Do any of these parks come under any other passes that give entry to other parks as well? If im making sense at all, any info would be super :)

"The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" is a park in it's own right. They haven't announced an opening date yet and according to a friend who works there in Guest Relations, it may not be until early June.

This is colder than a witches naughty bits.
It's ice cold.
It's brass monkey time ....
But that's only 'cos I can't afford to go back waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

However if you are going to Orlando, then visit US / IOA as they are the best parks in the area. I can understand those that live & breathe Walt Disney and just "Do Disney" with a "Why go anywhere else?" attitude but to go all that way and not visit IAO / US would be a travesty.
#17
What are the queue's like at these theme parks, in september time?

No,harry potter is just a part of islands of adventure!it uses 2 old rides and puts the harry potter brand on them, one being duelling dragons!so to call it it's own theme park is misleading!so anybody with tickets to islands of adventure will be able to go here, you won't need seperate tickets!!
#19
correct.
#20
i can also confirm that HP is not its owl theme park it is just a land (area) in IOA .
and defo agree with a previous poster that spiderman is awesome. but the new Rip Ride Rockit is sooooooo very very cool and is deo worth queueing for the front !!!!

To answer another posters q the universal papks can also be included on the Orando Flex ticket along with Busch Gardens wet & wild and Sea World HTH

Went to IoA in November not expecting much after US but found it one of the best parks we went to. Harry Potter was looking well on the way to being finished, Hogwarts looks huge and was already a major part of the Orlando skyline. I would go back tomorrow if i could
#22
Heading over on 29th September for 3 weeks. Anyone looking to do these parks aswell as aquatica, seaworld and bush gardens should check out the 5 park combo ticket. Comes in at £153 and is cheaper than the flex ticket option. Great for people like me going for three weeks because you can spread your 14 days around and dont have to use them within 14 days.

One downfall is that you basically get separate tickets.

We just paid £76 a ticket for that when we booked our Virgin holiday. I think that's a fairly average price if you book the park when you book your holiday.

Midweek shouldn't be too bad if you are outside a school holiday, weekends get busier.

Do NOT ride Rip Ride Rocket if you have any neck, back problems or if you don't like getting monster headaches. Its fun, but is the single most uncomfortable ride I have ever been on in my life. If I went back to Universal I'd debate even bothering with it.
#26
just got mine from Virgin... 6 of us going and needed the 5 park combo ticket for Sea World etc...after work leisure vouchers for Virgin (8% cashback) got them for £151.80 each
Also got Disney 14 day passes for £210.68 each

Did Orlando last year, walked right past "Harry Potter" at Universal. No indication there was to be an independent entrance, or that it was a separate theme park??? Seems bit odd???:?

Have to agree there :-D

My best advice there is to always use the single rider queue if available. You can often jump right to the front and save yourself half an hour plus of queuing. You're on a ride for a minute or two, does it matter who you sit next to?

I checked on the Universal website a couple of weeks ago and they were selling packages from the 30th of April.

I think they will be some very unhappy people if they are now putting this date back to a later date.

You can now book on their webpage from the 28th of May at the following link:-

I'm going for Easter....gutted that HP won't be open :(

We've been to Orlando for the past 3 years but are taking a year out as the kids are getting very complacent about going - most likely head back in 2011.

For anyone who hasn't been to IOA, is arguably one of the best parks around Orlando. Seussland and the cat in the hat ride are great for kids - the music on one fish, two fish is highly catchy too!

Hulk is excellant - Spiderman is very clever and very good indeed.

Ice and Fire of Duelling Dragons equally good.

My youngest kids scaredwitless by the Jurasic Park boat ride though!

Some great water rides too - you may get wet - my ar$e...you'll get drenched!

Harry Potter area was well under construction when we were there in November last year - is that right that it combines a re-branded Duelling Dragons? From what I saw, looked like they may incorporate other older unused rides.

Thats the only booking page that has been advertised on all the florida chat rooms, this is where the 28th May comes from. I have not seen any with earlier dates.

Reason why I'm concerned is because we fly home on the 27th!

I have been checking the website on a daily basis for the past month and not seen any earlier dates.

I ve found this site good for updates:

Yeah there using duelling dragons as the main ride and one of the smaller ones for one of the others so dont think its gonna have any NEW rides, shame really!hopefully hogwarts castle and hogsmeade village will make the experiance good!!!im sure it will
