for £13.99 for a new OS what's not hot about this deal? :P
Still no real improvements since 10.6 which is why most people that can still use it.

It's exactly the same as previous with a couple of bolt ons. Apple's idea of a new OS is not the same as Microsoft's anymore, last two have been more like service packs. All you get is headaches with the bits of code Apple 'forgot' to say they changed.
Would this include refurbs?
Also, it's not a waste of time. Often software developers (including Apple) will stop developing/supporting software on older versions. Also, if you're an iOS/OS X developer (like me) then the latest OS is a must, as Apple stop releasing the SDK/xcode for use on older versions of OS X after a while.
Cheaper than Lion, decent price. Though, technically not a 'deal' as this is standard price, though thanks for the heads up.

If you're still on 10.6, you'll need to upgrade to Lion first (unless you employ various trickery to do a direct install-but this is the approved Apple method) - if you're not desperate to upgrade...hold off for a few days/weeks until any major issues that occur are patched in 10.8.1 (as happened last year with Lion)
Thanks

Thanks
Yes
It's a new OS upgrade...it's hardly milking. Also, I can't imagine a 'unified' OS any time soon, considering the physical implications and restrictions of touch screen hardware.
I'd personally call the upgrade*coughdowngrade* to W8 a milking, when the cost will be at least 4-5 times this.
What does this do?

You can upgrade directly from Snow Leopard
Though you can get the RC edition and still get the upgrade edition for £15, so yes the people who don't know this information will pay more for windows 8.
