Just thought I'd add a few words now we've had the chance to use it for a long weekend. The weather was for the most part fair but cold - not getting above 10/12 degrees in the north east sun, and the wind got progressively stronger over the four days and three nights we were away. We woke up to heavy drizzle on the third morning though we were unaware of it until we poked our heads out as it wasn't noticeable on the thicker 150d polyester, the same goes for the wind noise too. We slept soundly each night I'm pleased to say. It's easy to put up by yourself though not so easy to fold away into the bag provided, we never managed to get the zip done back up and had to shoulder barge it to get it into the boot. At thirty kilos it's a dead wieght but that's because of the tough build and sheer size - it's 28sqm! So overall at the price we paid I have no regrets, we could happily spend a week to ten days in it.
Ha ha, all a bit too old school for us! Babs n Sid James would be snug in there.... I think I'll stick with modern fabrics, ventilation points, sewn in ground sheet and room to swing a very large cat. Great pic though. :D;)
Weight of canvas isn't an issue though as you generally put it up next to your car, but the best thing is your tent doesn't turn into a pressure cooker on hot sunny mornings so you can have a comfortable lie in. :)

I'd get something like this if I didn't already have a bell tent, £429

Rather have canvas for that price range. Cooler in the sunshine and warmer at night. :D
Fair enough but you'd do well to buy a new top brand 6 man Polycotton for under a grand. That's where the 150 denier comes in, it's more than twice that of standard tents but doesn't really add weight. It won't have the same properties as the polycotten but it's a fair compromise. Polycotton tents are very heavy to lump about and are far more expensive than this even without the air beam convenience. My partner plans to have weekends away with our girls when I'm having to work and this means she can easily pitch a large six man tent on her own. We watched a realtime YouTube vid of a guy pitch and take it down in 15 minutes flat. Although he had a little help squeezing the last bits of air out, but luckily I reckon that's probably the only aspect we can rely on the girls to help with! Reading this back to myself is making me realise I've spent far too long researching bloody tents, it's time to get out there. Roll on the weekend!

Was looking to buy a jacket post the mad rush of the sales at John Lewis and fancied myself a North Face Jeppeson Jacket, but found the price to be Sky high at £275. Here it is available for £90 less

I'd go for a large one for sleeping bags.
It's not a sleeping bag, you stuff your sleeping bag in it and pull the 4 straps. this compresses the sleeping to approx half it's rolled up size. you then can easily pack it in your rucksack. Very quick and easy to use.
Is this just the bag or actual sleeping bag?? Not convinced it's the sleeping bag....
Sounds like something you would use at an s & m party . . . Or so I believe.
