In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the “research and charity” branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, the asylum has been operating in strict secrecy… until now.

Acting on a tip from an anonymous source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.

Outlast is a true survival horror experience which aims to show that the most terrifying monsters of all come from the human mind.

Features:

True Survival Horror Experience: You are no fighter - if you want to survive the horrors of the asylum, your only chance is to run... or hide

Immersive Graphics: AAA-quality graphics give players a detailed, terrifying world to explore

Hide and Sneak: Stealth-based gameplay, with parkour-inspired platforming elements

Unpredictable Enemies: Players cannot know when - and from where - one of the asylum’s terrifying inhabitants will finally catch up to them

Real Horror: Outlast’s setting and characters are inspired by real asylums and cases of criminal insanity

Warning:

Outlast contains intense violence, gore, graphic sexual content, and strong language. Please enjoy.

Voted hot for outlast but not whistleblower, whilst both are brilliant, whistleblower isn't worth £3 and will be on sale again (probably on gamers gate -its a regular) at a much better price, below £1.50.

Highly recommend Outlast and its DLC. Scariest game I've played, even more-so than Alien Isolation I found.

Fun game, especially so on PC where a few simple config file tweaks can be made to have the graphics looking better still.

Lies. Costs a lot more than £3 when you have to factor in a pair of these

As echoed by others, good price for the base game but the DLC was £1.49 in the recent Steam sale (and is also brilliant).

ha ha, brilliant - have to agree though, this is a seriously scary game, lots of jumps and some genuinely frightening moments. Def worth the money, voted hot.

Whistleblower isn't worth £3?

Great game. I was at my Brothers house last weekend and his girlfriend said: 'How can a game be scary, it's just computer animations, you know it's not real'

My response was to put this on and put the control pad in her hands. She screamed a few times, her chair would up about 3 feet further than where she started due to her jumping back and at one point she grabbed my leg screaming what was that. (It was loud thumping music on the game and nothing else, you dirty minded people). ;-)

Absolutely fantastic game. I was hooked from the start. I've beaten it on every difficulty (even "insane" where you're sent back to the beginning if you die), and currently hold the speedrun time of 35 minutes and 47 seconds. I can say for certain that this game has officially messed up my jump scare reflex! For £3 for the main game and £3 for the DLC, it's definitely worth it!
