Low hydrostatic head of 1500mm, not fantastic for our English weather. Outwell are a very good make, but you can't beat what I paid for a 9 man tent by Coleman, £165.

Yes, but who in their right mind would want to sleep in it? £250 is a lot of dosh for a tent, but camping is pretty miserable unless you get a decent tent, which this one is. If you look at the overall cost of a week's holiday, this is almost incidental in comparison - and you get to use it again and again. Well worth it, I'd say.

I don't recomend getting a massive tent for a festival, I took my 10 man to a festival this week end and it nearly killed me lugging it miles to the camp site

I have this 10 man tent which is a good quality tent for £100 on ebay much better quality than that amazon one

which is avalible on ebay for £100 (sorry for some reason the ebay link wont work?)

I got an 8 man tent from woolies last week, down from £300 to £90 and has a 3000 rain proof.

Why so cold, this looks ok to me... All we need now is the weather.

:whistling:After returning from Cornwall and a week of weather i put our old tent straight on ebay and opted for this as a friend camping with us had this one and we did nothing but but wish we were inside it when the wind and rain came. Its ultra sturdy, you dont know or care whether its raining, hiling or even snowing when your in this tent. Its like the ad says - home from home. absolute luxury at a very good price. After a multitude of tents, i can honestly say there is no better than this.

thanks

I put this up at the weekend (http://www.offexploring.com/jdcampbell/albums/wye-valley-may-2009/5919479). I had bought it from eBay for about £120. Looks great in the eBay advert, but in real life it was crap crap crap. I'd never trust it in the rain or wind. It got stifling hot and suffered tremendously from condensation in the morning. The instructions were laughable, although I didn't struggle too much. The light covered roof meant that any insects entering the tent were attracted to the "ceiling" and stayed there, so the thing became completely infested.

So I would advise that you avoid cheap tents. Next time I'll pay proper money for a proper tent. The Outwell one looks good, but I would want to see on in the "flesh" before I spent good money.

we bought this tent in 2009 for £249 we love it, very spacious, with lots of windows and two doors also a small porch. the downside to it is that if the tension isnt exactly correct, ie if too tight it pulls at the seams and allows water to enter i have been advised to cut 5mm off each downward pole to lessen the tension on the top seams, also all tents should be weatherproofed every year at beginning of holiday season and all seams checked and if needed resealed
