Superb deal, Had mine since before Xmas and really pleased with it, This is the cheapest I've seen it

This is tempting. I had wanted one with component input but I'm not sure that's worth the £150 premium I'd have to pay to get that. What's with the cold votes, is that just the usual idiots who vote everything cold or is there an actual reason why this monitor isn't very good? It seems to tick all the right boxes, size, resolution, response time, DVI, all at a good price. Am I missing something?

The fact thats its a *va panel makes this deal even better.

Check out the viewing angles.

Voted hot!!!

OCuk are an awful company run by a disgusting racist, homophobic and completely bigoted fool!
They also try too pass off second hand goods as brand new and try their hardest to weasel out of their legal obligations by fobbing people off in the hope that the less confrontational and gentle souls give up or shy away!!
A few years back a load of people working for OC's left because of their practices and the way they handled customers, they spilt the beans and from what I can tell OC's have not changed a bit!!
Also their was a DON's room leak that showed what a vile creature 'Spie' and the people he had surrounded himself with are.

Scummy company that I wouldn't **** on if they were on fire.
But hey if you wanna give your money to a person like that then go ahead, personally I would rather pay extra somewhere else (normally cheaper elsewhere anyway) then line the pocket of a scum bag *******!

So have you got a suggestion for an alternative product for people to buy?

As you said in a previous post, Anyone can vote cold and not explain why:w00t:

Why should I have to do that? If I want to vote without justifying my vote then I bloody well will. I haven't seen any instructions to say if I want to vote cold then I have to also post a comment. I hate it when OPs start whining when people vote their precious posts cold. If I judge a post to be cold by any criteria I see fit I'll vote it as such. I wish people would stop trying to affect how other users choose to use this site. If you have a deal to post just post it, don't bark orders at me.

To OP I didn't vote for this as I don't have a clue if it's a good deal or not.

It's a good price, but the company has a really poor reputation. Personally, I'd ask SVP to source these and buy from there instead... they have some nice LGs at the mo...

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3436238/Acer-AL2416WB-24-Widescreen-TFT-Monitor/Product.html is £199.99 including delivery with 4% extra off from quidco.

I don't know how the monitor compares to this one though

This is a good deal. They were selling this for less than £200 when they first had it then they realised they were the VA panels and bumped the price up to over £250. But at that price you cant find another VA panel. They also had a faulty batch with tons of problems but I think they have past that stage now. Very tempted!

Received my L2442W today and I have to say that I'm very impressed. My laptop doesn't unfortunately have a DVI output so I'm having to make do with good old VGA but even with **** analog, the L2442W produces a fantastic image! Mine does seem to have one dead pixel which, to be honest, I can live with - after all, do I really want the hassle of returning it for the sake of *one* hardly noticeable pixel? Obviously if more start to appear within the next seven days, I'll reconsider this.

One tip I would say to anyone who is forced to use this monitor through 15-pin VGA - dump the ****** VGA cable that comes with it and get a decent cable! Swapping out the standard cable for something half decent makes *alot* of difference!
