OOS :p
FFS I bought two in the past 4 months, both been used and activated so I guess Im stuffed for any kind of money back. They made it seem like it was doing so well, upping the data and call minutes every other month and having a fancy website with a supposed cinema ticket deal. Now I know why the Windows Phone Ovivo app went dead, they obviously wanted to get rid of any evidence that said a customer had X amount of minutes and credit to use.

What a con! Ok I know some people will say they saw it coming and that we deserve it for expecting a free dinner, but seriously, to close down in one night with no forewarning whatsoever is terrible and I would of thought it was illegal. I guess giff gaff is the best choice again now...

These tariff only last for the month so I would say on balance for low users that the 321 tariff is about the best so far.

So is 321 deal cheaper than a fiver p/month? Be good if it is
I think he thinks after a month the price increases ...oO
I think what he means is... Three's 3-2-1 service doesn't expire per month like most do these days. You don't have to keep topping up your credit every month. If you're a really low user and say you top up a fiver it will last till you use the last penny, even if it was months later.

Three's charges are 3p per min. 2p per text and 1p per mb of data.

6 months group on deal £14 plus a £10 now Tv box with ice films side loaded and including free trials and recently a 6 mths netflix deal with virgin and a free mnths with love films and not to mention all the dirt cheap dvd offers all over the net its getting silly can't see it sustaining it self what does this mean for the further film industry when all this comes to next to nothing was much more straight forward when it was only just 4 chnls with the treat of the odd vhs.

I'm pretty certain that these offers wouldn't be available if it all proved to be a loss making exercise... Free months trials lures people in who can't be bothered to cancel or wouldn't bother even looking in the first place.

Also, what does it say when an offer like this gets to -121 (and will probably get colder) while the Kindle version of issue one of The Walking Dead goes to 300+ ? A months entertainment for free vs. a 30 minute read... Hmmmm...

Had my Orange PAYG unlocked for a tenner yesterday, and today ordered a sim. Next week I'll do the same for the Wifes and put me down as the referer .....for another £5 credit.

We are Old School here, and though we have desktops, laptops, tablets, and e-Readers, neither of us find the need to be joined at the hip to our mobiles. Freedom indeed, so the similar Ovivo named deal will do us nicely

Goodbye to
Land Line phone with Plusnet to a mobile ........ 26p first minute
Orange Racoon [their cheapest PAYG plan]..... 14p a minute

And though I doubt we will ever use more than the minutes and texts included in the Freedom 0 plan.
Even if we do, calls at 8p a minute and 2p a minute to other Ovivo users...............well suited.
Will use a spare Orange PAYG phone and sims we have, to use up our PAYG balances to make calls home from abroad. You know the type, short and sweet....arrived safely, are you remembering to take your tablets Dad?
On Orange we pay £1.30 from Turkey, on Ovivo it is £1.65
Great network been on it for almost 2 years. Purchased it for £5 and got that back as credit as well. Hot deal worth the £20 sign up fee.
Excellent customer service, i am now using it for more than a year, i have purchased the sim fo £5, i still have £10 credit on it.
signed up for this a few months back, great signal, works a treat, huge saving against contract, such a no-brainer, love it

How the hell ovivo charging data to their customers. I have turned completely off my ovivo data for one day and night and when checked it was showing i have used 120kb then refreshed my pc 330 KB and after 10 minutes 659 KB. So by turning data off they are charging you fraudulently and whats gonna happen when you actually turn your data on. BLOODY DODGY OVIVO

Perfectly crafted Ponzi scheme. New users have to pay double price - which will pay for their usage for next 2-3 months and users who paid 3-4 months earlier
Apparently £20 was the limit, making offer not so attractive for new users, so it collapsed. And "reasons beyond our control" probably means couple millions of reasons stashed on bank account beyond control of Ofcom, Ombudsman and police.

Hi guys, can you still donate your credit to charity with ovivo? I read on another thread you can no longer use it for psn credit :(

thanks, just purchased one for my son but could not find any details in there terms and conditions to state what would happen if for example (you finish your free allowance)

1 : will they send you a bill for extra charges
2 : will I have to wait for next renewal date before getting allowance again

also what happens if the £15 credit finishes in the first month lol ?

could someone explain pls :)

If your son ever goes over the monthly allowance, any further use will then start to eat into the £15.00 credit. If for some reason that is also fully spent in the first month (or at any time) you will either have to top up via paypal/debit/credit card or wait until the following renewal date for the monthly allowance to reset once again. Ovivo don't bill you. You just use the allowance or pay to top up your credit if you ever exceed that monthly allowance.

To keep a check on the balance of monthly allowance/credit you send a [free] text to 39555 saying: "bb" and it will instantly return the remaining balance of mins/texts/data for that month.

Hope that makes sense.

-

Thanks for explaining :)

Looks like they're ditching the free ovivo > ovivo calls and instead adding 50 extra minutes to the allowance

http://www.ovivomobile.com/news/great-value-just-got-even-better/

So 200 Mins to any UK network/Landline
300 Texts
500MB data
You are right.
But to soften the blow a little bit, they have priced the ovivo > ovivo calls and txts @ 2ppm & 2p a text. (this charge will apply once you have used up your free monthly allowance).
This all starts at the beginning of the new year.
"If you joined OVIVO on or before the 1st December 2013 on our Freedom plan or you’re currently on Freedom 0, Freedom 5, Freedom 10 or Freedom 20 you’re eligible for unlimited OVIVO to OVIVO calls and texts once you’ve used your inclusive any network allowance, until the 1st January 2014."

How long does this take for a sim to arrive for those that have signed up?

Ordered mine on the 21st November and still waiting! My current PAYG has been out of credit for a week whilst waiting and still no show! :(
Yeah, it is a bit unusual to take that long. The first one that I ordered was on a Wednesday and it came the following Monday which I thought was quite a while at the time but then I ordered the second one the very next day on the Tuesday and it arrived only two days later on the Thursday.

I'd use that link pen69sky gave to contact them and see what they say if I were you.

Thanks guys. I have a suspicion that my nasty local postman may have something to do with my missing sim, but I could be wrong!

Hope the mods/ admin sort out the editing issue, definitely a problem in the making otherwise.

I have ordered 6 sims so far, all have arrived in 2/3 days.

Do as pen69sky suggested, make a report.

contacted them on Monday, and finally got my sim today. Bit of a faff setting-up without wifi connection, but all sorted now! Chuffed with great deal though, so hopefully all plain sailing from here on ... :)

Wondering if someone can help.

Looking to switch from my current phone (three) to this sim card.

How do I go about transferring over my number?

I know its to do with the PAC code, but do I get it released from three and then ring up/email ovivio with the pac code?

Can someone confirm.

Thanks

Few things -

Make sure your phones unlocked to take the sim.
Make sure your out of contract.

1. Request your PAC code from Three (3 letters followed by 6 numbers). You have to be out of your contract period to get this and if you are they'll try and offer you a deal if your leaving. The PAC code will last for 30 days

2. Order your Ovivo Sim - comes pretty swiftly.

3. Activate your Ovivo Sim by making a call for 10 seconds or longer

4. When activated choose the option "Port in a number" here http://support.ovivomobile.com/support/tickets/new
Here youll be asked to enter a few details including the PAC

5. The PAC request will go over in about 48 hours. When it does I believe Three will be then notified and will cancel your previous contract.

I think thats pretty much it.

Regards

Thanks for your help. Ordered :).

You get the odd marketing email nothing overly taxing
andy2004
Just read there terms and conditions.

3.2 Use of the service is dependent on receiving marketing messages from OVIVO Mobile. This is a mandatory opt in requirement and if not acceptable, then OVIVO Mobile will terminate the service and if required, allow the mobile number to be ported out.

so if web is disable as it currently is on my phone, they could terminate the service.

just look in teh many long Ovivo threads - many use non web enabled phones and they still work - thsi term more likely referes to email messages or SMS - having said that I have never had a marketing SMS from them or any partners. And for email - create a new gmail account and use that for Ovivo if you really want to stop the Ovivo emails - but then again I only get a few each week so does not bother me. Get many more from Amazon / Argos / ebay etc

you will be fine :)

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this but you can't get a sim sent to someone else's house, it has to be the same address as your credit card is registered. I had this problem recently and they didn't even phone or email me to let me know but got an instant refund when I phone up a week later.

I moved house 4 months ago and have mail redirected (never changed my address). Ordered and received an OVIVO sim at my present temporary address and it's not where my credit card is registered.

Has anybody failed the security question section on the registration of the sim? If so, did it take long to sort it out?

I've just tried to register my Ovivo sim and for some reason the answer to my security question was classed as incorrect so I obviously couldn't proceed any further. It came up with a link for me to contact Ovivo Support and to quote an error code and my full account information which I have done. But I was wondering approximately how long it will take?

The most annoying part is that I bought and registered my other half's Ovivo sim last week and that process went really smoothly, so registering my own sim should have been a breeze as I knew what to expect, so really confused as to what happened. When I input the Ovivo mobile number they provided it was definitely linked to me as they acknowledged my name. It was just at the security question section where it all went awry. Weird.
Wierd indeed. Never seen such problem before.
Hopefully customer service will sort it out soon.
On a seperate note, I hope you are aware that ovivo to ovivo calls will be deducted from your free allowance.
Thanks for your reply msaini.
I'm not sure what their working hours are but hopefully it won't be long.
Oh yes, I was aware of the ovivo to ovivo calls, thanks.

They even work on weekends. What is the status at the moment? If you have already contacted them, what did they say?
The Customer Support contact link that accompanied the warning that my security question was inaccurate was just basically an email link and I didn't receive an automated acknowledgment receipt when I sent it (not that I was really expecting to)

I put the error code as the subject heading and then advised them of what occurred on my attempt to register/activate the sim, I then gave them all the rest of the required info as per their instruction and told them I would be grateful for any assistance in the matter. I'm just waiting on a reply now. If I haven't received one by tomorrow evening, I'll probably just give them a call.
Ok. So hopefully it should be sorted out soon. My advice is to call them if you have any problem. Their call centre team is quite good and British. Emails can sometimes make processes frustratingly long.
A nice young man called me this morning on my registered telephone number (that you give when you first sign up when buying the sim) After confirming who I was, he told me that unfortunately I'd added a space on the end of my answer to the security question and that's why it wasn't accepted. Felt quite foolish, but couldn't be helped I suppose as I wasn't aware. Really nice guy and very helpful. I've also filled in the form to port my old number over which will give me an additional £3 credit and put my other half as the recommendation so he has got an extra £3 credit too. Not bad.

Really liking the service so far. Sorry I didn't hear about this sooner.

Thanks again for your help msaini.

That is great :) ....
Ovivo customer service has never disappointed me in last 1 year(not that i had a lot of problems with othem). I have contacted them on behalf of others. Nice people. Nice little company. Someone even got a refund from them after couple of days of usage as he wasnt get good network coverage in his area.
I am doing my bit by spreading the word as a 'thank you' for the excellent free service.

If you are a light user and can cope with the odd bit of advertising then this is a great deal. The £15 is basically credit in case you go over your monthly allowance. This is the Freedom sim, others

I have had ovivo for a few months now but have noticed that when people call me it goes straight to voicemail. anyone know why.

The same thing happens to me all the time. In my case it's because the Ovivo signal/network is so poor and they can't get through to me. I can't even get an Ovivo signal where I live despite getting 5 out of 5 signal strength in exactly the same place when using EE's network - coverage really is shockingly poor.

Do you know if i tried to sims run on the vodafone network eg. Ovivo and Talktalk would I get same signal strength/problem.

Sorry I don't know. Ovivo customers get a much worse signal than Vodaphone customers even though we technically use the same network. I don't know about Talktalk.

It's the call/data quality which counts, not the number of bars reception you see on the phone. Telco's program that to show what they want so if you bought your phone from Vodafone and are using a Vodafone sim then chances are it will always show a stronger signal than if you stick in a new provider sim card.
Yeah you pay £20 now and they only give you £15 credit.

Don't seem to be able to add the credit to PSN anymore.

Sorry, Sony is not available for Vodafone. Contact us if you have questions.
Worked a couple weeks ago.

Anyone know of any other similar deals from other networks? As I don't get Ovivo / Vodafone 3G where I live. Thanks.
Free per month? No.

The only similar deal was the free 12 month contract with Tmobile. which is quite good. 250 mins, 500 texts and 500 mb of data, and I pay nothing per month. I ended up getting a few of them.

But that's over now, I've not seen anything similar since.

I am still waiting for the simcard from this deal. Do you or anyone else know if it will work on a iPad? hopfully they will change the standard simcard I ordered for a nano simcard, as I have a iPad Mini Retina 3G/4G on order.

For anyone with issues. The only way for me to get 3g working was using these APN settings:

Name: OVIVO
APN: ovivomobile.com
MCC: 234
MNC: 15
APN Type: default

Thanks, I've been having a lot of trouble getting my internet working but your settings did it :)
I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but The majority of my data connection is displayed at the top as GPRS
The contract before my previous one was voda and I'm pretty sure when I was tiring at my desk, it was connected to 3G so I'm wondering if there is some connection throttling going on or something
Also it remains on GPRS for quite a whole then eventually goes onto 3G

Really weird but the only way to truly check if there is a difference is to try a Vodafone payg SIM card which I will do when I get a chance
