Great spot... Sorry!

I think the Hydrogen Peroxide acne products are MUCH too harsh on your skin (speaking as a skincare addict).

You'd be better to read up on the Oil Cleansing Method and even acne LED lights (some get good reviews), and things like the Dermawand (high frequency ozone devices disinfect the skin), you get DW cheap on ebay.

If your acne is REALLY bad, you need antibiotics, though Accutane is controversial, think it's not available in the UK any more.

I was searching for benzoyl peroxide products one time and it seems that only Oxy have it in one of their product available in the UK off the shelf.

Sorry, my bad, Benzoyl Peroxide. Honestly, it totally mucked up my skin when I was younger.

hope you were not using anything above 2.5%. That's what's recommended since higher % would be too harsh for the face.

Oxy used to come in quite high %s when they first came on the market and I used the strongest available. Think it was Oxy 10, Oxy 5, etc..

I can't remember that far back precisely what it was (I'm 38 now) but Benzoyl Peroxide creams played havoc with my skin (I was prescribed them too). I'm all clear now, and fighting the aging process rather than the zits :)

My niece is now getting a bit spotty (nearly 12) and I'm going to forbid her from buying any Clearasil, Oxy, etc and try Oil Cleansing Method, microfibre cloths, Dermawand and (blue) LED instead. Much kinder. LEDs you have to watch as some are scams, it's all to do with how powerful they are..I can't recommend anything here for fear of being called a spammer, but the skincare forums have some recommendations.

Also remember your sunscreen and you'll be beautiful for years to come!
