  Kinda becomes rinse and repeat after the second season, but it's strong enough that it put HBO's statement of intent out there for future series that were far superior.

  Agreed it does taper off towards the end, but even so, the last few seasons were still far better than most dross on TV these days, the first 2 seasons were brilliant, up there with The Wire for sheer quality. Loved this show, for the price of less than a night out, this will keep you gripped for many an evening - though not exactly "date" tv, unless your date is your cellmate!!!

  I've enjoyed watching the first two seasons of this but I have to say it certainly looks its age, something about it in that sense that doesn't compel me to keep watching compared to other series. I think I've been spoilt by Breaking Bad X)

  Good series and very much ground breaking in its day for the themes it went with, but looks a bit dated now against some of excellent writing that has come to characterise HBO's output. Price seems pretty decent for the number of hours, although if you are prepared to wait....

  Only have the last disc left to watch on season 6, loved this! Second to The Wire!!
