pretty good price, even better for anyone that still has a 10% code.

Is nearly £30 for an already aired TV series really a deal ? maybe Im fussy but Ive seen this in HD on TV & tbh, not a patch on Band of Brothers imo

Not voted up or down tho, each to his own ;)

The DVD is on zavvi at 17.99 so post that then as the upscaling looks almost as good as blu ray.

I agree with you JtR, I'll wait for it to come down a bit further.

Band of Brothers: 9/10
The Pacific: 6.5/10

In my opinion, the characters from Band of Brothers are so much more engaging and have great development throughout the 10 episodes.

For those who have Sky HD I think this is going to be shown on the free Sky Atlantic HD in the near future.

I am not comparing this to anything else, so I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was.

Agree with the comments from JtR and Latterman.

I was really looking forward to it as I loved band of brothers, but I found it a struggle to bring myself to watch the last few episodes.

Not that I'm going to vote cold, but if you're considering this because you liked band of brothers you may be dissapointed.

This was utter gash, read the Amazon reviews on this esp the 2 star ones. A lot of sense spoken

I think I'll wait until it's down to around the £15-£20 mark, I'm in no rush to watch it again.

It's a good solid series with some absolutely stunning visual moments but they focused on too many different people at once, it wasn't like BoB where they followed the same unit all the way through. The main downfall of The Pacific was the fact it came after BoB, it was never going to live up to the hype. BoB is probably the greatest piece of television ever made.

The last few episodes were the best ones , same war different area so can't be compared to Band of Brothers .

Wait, we can't compare TV programs unless they are set in exactly the same time and place?
