Fab price for this BluRay Boxset. Use code 15MAY-1 to buy at this price.

From the producers of Band of Brothers, The Pacific tracks the real-life journeys of three U.S. Marines--Robert Leckie (James Badge Dale), Eugene Sledge (Joe Mazzello) and John Basilone (Jon Seda)--across the vast canvas of the Pacific Theatre during World War II. The extraordinary experiences of these men and their fellow Marines take them from the first clash with the Japanese in the haunted jungles of Guadalcanal, through the impenetrable rain forests of Cape Gloucester, across the blasted coral strongholds of Peleliu, up the black sand terraces of Iwo Jima, through the killing fields of Okinawa, to the triumphant, yet uneasy, return home after V-J Day.

You should know better than that, andy. The cold-voting sheep always get first chew at the grass.

Having watched Band of Brothers and expected same standard we were pretty disappointed with Paciffic

I watched them in reverse order and marvelled at the superiority of Band of Brothers.

Yep agree with others. Very good series, but not quite as good as Band of Brothers.
#26
Bad show, id maybe pay £15 for it
#27

True mate. I'm struggling to watch it on Sky Atlantic at the moment - such dross! Only worth buying so you can say you have a blu-ray series LOL. As many others have said, not a patch on Band of Brothers which has a more compelling storyline, better acting, better action IMHO and you actually care about the characters. Don't waste your dosh.

scorching hot

Heat for the price, but don't expect it to be anywhere near as good as Band Of Brothers.

Thanks matey, just purchased it via quidco & used this code so good price and 350 points in total!

It's a shame the series isn't up to par with Band of Brothers.
#35
Since nobody seems to have pointed out so far that this isn't as good as Band of Brothers, i'll do it -

Nah, just kidding - it's a disappointing series but for someone who wants to buy it, this is excellent value.
#36
Good price, again not a patch on BOB, however lay money at Xmas this will be £19.99 BR High Street price and around £15ish on web. Remebers is still on Sky Atlantic HD at the moment :) albeit only 1080i.
#37
Poor series.

What they should have done is base the story around Robert Leckie more so than Eugene Sledge who came into it as a raw recruit.

Leckie had the more entertaining and thrilling adventure compared to Sledge. They missed out one hell of an adventure through Leckie's eye's IMO.....

I have read both their books and thoroughly recommend "Helemet for my pillow" by Robert Leckie.

Now this is what the Pacific HBO series should have been all about!!!
#38
But still a good price on this box set all the same....HOT :)
