I purchased a refurbished one last year from Currys, received it and was very happy. It was not in its original box but it was like Brand New with the plastics still on the screen and around the unit.

I showed it to my neice and she wanted one as well. So I ordered another one but when I received it had one dead pixel in the center of the screen.

So without telling my neice I gave her the Laptop which I had and returned the one with the dead pixel for a full refund, because they did not have any in stock  (still to this day she does not know about this)

For peace of mind Guarantee you are covered with a full 12 months Free warranty.

Hope this helps.

purchased 2 refurbs from dixons over christmas, had a keyboard problem with one of them but they picked it up from my daughters college took it away and sorted it out and returned it within 5 days, both of them looked like brand new. well pleased with the laptops but customer services are a bit of the pain to deal with, but once you get the right person their good.

Lots of them are DSR returns - no faults just can't be sold as new. ~Full 12 month warranty is great for peace of mind as mentioned. I'v never had a refurb laptop but I do have a refurb desktop - no problems as of yet (other than quidco failing to track annoyingly!)

Picked up a PB 17" widescreen laptop that was on HUKD about a month ago for £373 all in - a refurb but you could not tell the difference between this and a new one. As poster above said, plastic covers in place all over laptop. Very happy.

I'd say go for it.
