good price.. also it has webcam which I think has not been mentioned

768 vertical screen resolution, better than smaller netbooks.

ULV processor, light, but not upgradeable. Also "lightweight".

GMA 4500M indicates a modern chipset, possible 8Gb max RAM?
#4
Apparantly only 4Gb max RAM, http://www.laptopgram.com/2009/09/24/packard-bell-dot-mu-netbook/

I know it takes 2 modules, which is suprising in such a small form factor, because one site was offering a 3Gb model. So I would want to try 8Gb but it is too new to see the results.

Heat added.

HDMI out, 2GB RAM, 64bit -big selling ponts when you see the price. And if they're brand new that's a bonus.

They only have 24 remaining -so be quick!

Bought one - heat added

Was looking at the Dot A for £349 and getting 5% off and 3% cashback through Quidco (essentially £320) but I don't see enough difference to justify the extra cost.

Well spotted!

Came so close to buying one to replace my Acer Aspire a150. Chickened out in the end. Figured netbooks are going to take a battering in the next year or two with the tablet rush. Hopefully it'll mean they'll get cheaper still rather than be a thing of the past.

Brilliant find. Hot!!

Bought a Packard Bell BG45 12 inch ultra portable about 2 years ago, still going strong with upgraded cpu, memory and HDD, was looking to get another, but this looks perfect, soooo tempting!!
#9
Anyone know how much fast this CPU is compared to the current bunch of Atom processors? Also, can the graphics chip do full HD?

...trying to stall for time, hoping they'll all be sold soon.

Turns out this is a re-badged Acer Aspire 1410... http://www.simplyacer.com/Product/id/667555. And a review of the Acer... http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/default/3207930/acer-aspire-1410-review/

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Celeron+743+%40+1.30GHz

PassMark - CPU Mark: 469
Atom N270: 303

It’s a pretty big improvement on the mainstream single core atoms

Sometimes I hate this site, what saving have I made as I just spent £200 on something else I don’t need

Time to sell on my eee 901.

It's a good price, but really let down by the processor. It's only the single core ULV and believe me, cannot handle anything in the way of multi tasking.
#13
I think the way to look at these is far far more useful netbooks, than small laptops.
The extra screen space is just enough to prevent having to scroll websites sideways.
With HDMI out, this is definitely a cut above most of the Atom-based netbooks we see on here.
Full Windows too.

Definitely hot (even if it is still based on an Acer).
#14
Lovely looking machines these, seem well built, heat added!

NB Above review for the Acer is the dual-core version, this CPU is quite a lot slower...
#15
Ah ****, purchased but as phaffing with my Paypal details it never went through ;o(

Maybe for the best!

expired ;[

thank god it's expired. I was so close to buying this. I want a netbook with a bit more va-va-voom in the CPU department.
#18
Does this have a CD/DVD ROM in built?

LOL me relieved too

looked at the deal...ummm'ed a bit about it being a celeron and a packard bell...decided against...but then for £200 reconsidered, but none left...phew

Probably a bit relieved as well, pretty much only use my current Netbook for surfing, well until my Zoostorm broke exactly a week after it's 12 Month warranty was up!

Anyone know help with a good cheap Netbook deal, is the MSI one the best?

I also saved some money by not getting it :)
