Can anyone tell me if this is worth the money please?
#2
is it a good deal?

Damn right it is.
Look at the parts only

A LCD monitor will set you back the best part of £100 so that brings the actual base unit to £200 or £210 ish.
It has 1 TB harddrive - About £70-80 if you buy it as a stand alone.
Okay it has vista but its a very cheap upgrade through HP/Packard Bell

So as a starter PC or replacing a older one its well worth the money.
Don't expect it to be a top spec PC but for the money nothing will come close.
#3
No Windows 7 upgrade on this, but still a reasonable deal.
#4
Good deal, first thing I'd do is wipe Vista and install Windows 7. This is more than enough power for the average user, who just browses the web, reads email, watches iplayer and other streaming services, youtube etc.

You can get a 23" 1080p monitor for £100, and 1TB HDs are now down to £50 so it's not that well priced. Still good value for the spec though.

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.206-8767.aspx For the same money you can get an Acer with 19" monitor and Quad core (Smaller HD though)...
#12
The Acer is a way better deal IMO.

A good quality 1TB for £58.70 there. A £9 exaggeration but he's not far off. Also I'm sure you could find a worse one for nearer £50.

Upgrade to Win 7 Pro just by being a student for £39.95 here http://www.software4students.co.uk/Microsoft_Windows_7_Professional_64_bit_Upgrade_Edition-details.aspx

If I needed a PC, I'd be seriously looking at this as it is great at £300. Hot.

Beware of the overheating issues due to the slimline on the case Acer X1300.
Google it for more info.

Check Scan Out usually have 1TB for about £50.00 - £55.00 Samsung F3`s too.

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1TB-Samsung-HD103SJ-Spinpoint-F3-SATA-3Gb-s-7200rpm-32MB-Cache-89-ms-NCQ-OEM

£60.00 today but watch for shop offers of daily deals and its about £50.00 once a week.

yes someone please clarify

i think this one does not have hdmi port, but u can always use dvi or hdmi cable but the better option would be buy a new graphics card you will get an hdmi port and huge performance boost i think at this spec the pc can barely handle full hd stuff so u are better of investing a couple of quid on a graphics card.

cheers:thumbsup:

According to cpu benchmark this processer is nowhere near the acer AMD Phenom Quad Core 9450e, but way bigger hard drive...

My comments on the monitor being worth about £100 is because I was commenting on that actual monitor that you get in the deal.
Its £89.99 at PC world - I know as I bought the £349 package from PC World about 2 weeks ago for my dad. The Quad core Acer was £399 then at tescos and this Packard Bell 1TB was not even on the tesco site.
As for the £50 Hard drive, fair play but the usual selling price is about £70 on average these days but good on you for finding it cheaper.
At the end of the day this deal is decent for anyone who just wants a cheap first PC or upgrade from a 5 year old PC.
It will do most jobs well and even with Vista at £299 its a good deal and it won't be around long so don't sit there waiting for something better and watch them sell.
Desktops are getting harder to obtain as the world now wants Laptops and Net books - Infact most shops these days now only have about 3 desktops in their shops compared to about 30 laptops or netbooks.
