I've had Packards before and they let me down. One of the most popular laptops to come into my workshop after Acers are Packard. To be fair its not a bad price.

Packard Bell is a Dutch computer manufacturer and a subsidiary of Acer. The name was previously used by Packard Bell, an American radio manufacturer founded in 1926.[1][2] In 1986, Israeli investors bought the name for a newly formed personal computer manufacturer. Originally the company produced discount computers in the US and Canada. When it left the North American computer industry in 2000, it quickly became a leader in the European and African markets. NEC took it over in the late 1990s. The Taiwanese computer manufacturer Acer acquired it in 2008.[3]

In spite of the similarity of their names, there has never been any corporate connection between the original or later Packard Bell and Hewlett Packard, Bell & Howell, Bell Aircraft, or Bell System.

decent deal, shame it doesn't have usb3 or gigabit ethernet. Ivy bridge processors are out in a few months for laptops btw incase anyone doesn't need a new laptop right away.

cold for me, just advice for people who intend to buy this, i don't know much about this brand but for this price this is not so good, i bought HP in same price having radeon graphics card 1GB, anti lasic speaers and lot more, intel i5 price is going down day by day, so is not a hot deal just average if you are in hurry to buy.

As if we are going to listen to someone who can't get the name of the speakers in his laptop right.
