I'm in the IT industry myself and i normally have a good chuckle on my lunchtime reading the papers with the now obligatory page spread each day from Currys/Comet/Dell offering such 'super' deals which are usually a total rip-off with the exception of Dell who to be fair are pretty decent on occasions.
Anyway this caught my eye today and i still think it was a mis-print. PC World have a horrendous reputation for being scam merchants but even this seems to good to be true. It's an absolute f'n BEAST of a system for the money and without having the time to check i reckon if you priced this as a custom system with, for example, Dells online builder it would be pushing nearer a £1,000.
Most deals entering the market now are bigging up 1GB of RAM so to get 2GB is some start. Again 250GB hard drive would be on most deals, so 320GB is the size of a small country (i remember my first PC had 4gb!!). Graphics card is one of the best you'll get at the moment period (most new systems offer 256mb and that itself is still very powerful) and on top of that a lovely widescreen 19" TFT. And of course a very decent dual-core Intel processor.
It was in the paper today for £699 but i can only find it for £899 online but it's the same system. I think it was in the Star or the Sun today. - i only read the very best of papers on my lunch break you see ;-) Code was 050215 which doesn't show up online but it's defo available in store as far as i am aware.
I know it's not exactly a bargain system - £700 is a lot of money - but if your into PC's and especially for running games then this is a hammer of a machine.
I'm still scratching my head and thinking there must be a catch though, PC World just don't do things like this for such a price do they?
