Be aware it has a backplate which may foul the memory slot clips on an mATX motherboard with 4 memory slots. It is also slightly wider than 2 slots. I got this card in the Amazon Warehouse 20% sale and very pleased with it so far.

Sorry its a bit of a weird question but, how close are the fans against the heat sink?

I'm thinking i can chop bit of the prong lifting it and get a few extra mm.

I loved that sale- all the naysayers may complain about the Warehouse sales but picked up a GTX 1070 as "Used-Like New" for £279 so really can't complain with that.

Likewise, though my GTX 1070 arrived DOA, so currently waiting on a replacement!

Oh dear- nice they are sending a replacement though. Usually they refund so they must have had more in stock. What model did you get and what price?

They're not. I've ordered a new one to see whether its the card or something with my system, as it's a new build. I imagine the same model as you, Palit Dual. I seem to recall it was £279 after the 20%. They had a founders edition at £320 after the discount but they weren't willing to price match as a suitable replacement.

How did you convince them to send you a replacement, Amazon only do refunds against Warehouse deals, and I know as I've had many, many, many problems with them. :)

Don't remind me. Worst bit is Amazon knocked a further 20% off for me as they ignored my instructions to 'Dispatch in Amazon box', so the actual card should have cost me £214 if it worked :(

Yes that's right- a Palit Dual. Pretty basic, but works well enough, and as it is slightly smaller than other 1070s it fits my case nicely.
In my new build last year it the 2 (1 was a replacement) rx 380s caused system crashes but then went to a 970 and it was 100% stable. And the same with the 1070 it is 100% stable. Hope that means your system doesn't have an version to 1070s as mine does (seemingly) with rx 380s.

It says on the item page 'This item's packaging will indicate what is inside. To cover it, select Dispatch in Amazon box on the checkout page.' I did this and they didn't do it and basically just slapped a royal mail label on the item box.

I am right in thinking it's a single 8pin power socket? I know some 1070s are dual 8 pins, and although I've searched even square cm of the card part of me thinks I'm just being thick :{

this worth getting? i found an xfx r9 390x for £130 from the warehouse deals but its loud as can be and eats power, also looks funky in post screen but I game fine.. thinking of just returning to pick this up for a quieter system.

Great price for a really great mid range card.

Also, there seems to be a lot of people coming into threads talking about how much they paid for used stock on amazon warehouse, yet, there seems to be a ton of problems with this stock... Why is that a common thing? It's like a humble brag or something?

Of course you can buy a used card for 10-20% cheaper.

exact same. Got it for £160 very good condition from Amazon Warehouse. Great card, perfect for 1080p budget build. Goes great with my Oc'd Ryzen 1600.
#32
Great price, to chirp in on the Amazon Warehouse Sale, bought three cards, 1 x RX 480 8GB - Came, displayed but couldn't be recognised by Windows / AMD drivers, then 2 x RX 470, one of which had a totally non-operational fan, the sensor gave realistic readings and responded to manual changes, but he fan didn't move at all. The good RX 470, for 130, is a steal. Well worth the hassle of a few returns to get cards at a good price. Hope everyone continues to have good fortune on their purchases.

With only a single 6-pin for additional power is this (75w pcie + 75 6-pin) going to restrict the card for overclocking?

Really tempted but lack of FreeSync is holding me back.

RX480 or RX580 if you can afford. Both better

1060 and RX480/580 are for what it's worth pretty much the same card now in terms of price to performance, which at the end of the day in this segment is all that matters.

When the 470's and 480's were around £150 then they were the absolute clear choice, for price to performance as the 3GB 1060 was £200 minimum, and the 6GB was £230, and you were spending £50-80 to gain a few frames in one game, and lose a few in another.

This deal is for a 1060 for £196.99. You can get a 580 for £189.96 from ebuyer. Good bit more performance for less £
