Not sure about the Manufacturer but better this than getting an OEM card so a good price I think.

Aren't they using Nvidia's reference board and not the brand advertised on this deal? How well do we know about card manufacturer - that is reliability and warranty. Thanks.

Most VGA cards are close copies of the chips maker’s reference designs and the performance differences are typically negligible when using stock speeds so this isn’t an issue.

This is the same as any deal, if you don’t know the manufacturer then you can either do some research, buy blind or pass on the deal.

Manufacturer is XVision (made by Palit).

We sell them where we work and they're reasonable budget cards. Only drawback is sometimes the cooler they use doesn't have an adjustable thermal fan so runs at 100% all the time (Read: Noisey) but this is pretty rare.

the price is really good but I would advise against the Xpertvision/Palit 9600GT, or any 9600GT for that matter until they sort out the problems they have with their Black Screen of Death.. I had this card on a brand new PC last month and it used to simply freeze the video while playing a game.. any game... not necessarily a resource intensive game.

After a lot of troubleshooting and going through forums, contacting Xpertvision etc I managed to get the card replaced with an 8800GT which is the wiser choice.

I think I'm going to need to get a bigger psu. I need some COD4 love. But I'll probably wait for the next generation of this family of cards to come out before getting something like this tough.

i have an XVision 8600GT and it works great
but after a while it has gotten a bit noisey, but other than that i can say that they make good GFX cards

If you missed out

Not as good, but for its price its still a bargain. I have the powercolor version and its overclocked to almost 880mhz. If you can overclock, its certainly a card to consider over the 9600gt and 8800gt purely because of its price. Other benefits include much lower idle power consumption due to powerplay, hdmi with sound out and UVD.

Depends entirely on your budget. If you can afford it, go for the 8800gt. The hd 3870 isnt worth buying with the 9600gt and 8800gt at its current prices.
