nnocence Has A Power Evil Cannot Imagine.

Pan's Labyrinth is the story of a young girl that travels with her mother and adoptive father to a rural area up North in Spain, 1944 - after Franco's victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Post-war Fascist repression is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own.

I had a look at this the other day but reviews seemed a little mixed - big thumbs up from here though?

One of the best films to have come out in recent years, I already have it but at this price, I will definitely buy it and keep it as a duplicate copy!

Number 41 in the all time list on IMDB says it all really. A masterpiece and great price although this is only the 1 disc version. I'd pay extra for the 2 disc version.

I loved it and paid about £8 for it a while ago. This is the cheapest I have seen so recommend you get it :)

This is a fantastic film. I'm a big fan of Guillermo Del Torro's work. Good price, but I'd wait for the 2 disc version really.

Good film, that white monster with the eyeball hands was great. Really creepy.:)
#14
Not just me then, one of those films that haunts you forever, excellent value.
#15
I bought the boxset with cronos -- devils backbone and pans labry

I love foreign & arthouse movies, but I think this one was a touch overhyped for me. Thought it was good, but not as great as I'd hoped.
#17
I've ordered it as Mark Kermode thinks this is a great film, and I've gone through Quidco!

Can't be doin with films in foreign :)

I did hear it was a very good film though. And the trailers look great too.

I do find that trying to read and watch a film is very distracting.

Then you are missing out on some classic films that mash Hollywood Junk e.g. The Ring, Das Boot.

Whilst I agree that subtitles may at first appear distracting; after 10-15 minutes you really start to pick up the video/subtitles in unison without realising. Try this film as it is very visual and the subtitles are not overwhelming. You'd probably get the fiver back on ebay!

I totally agree...Foreign flicks are ment to be watched with subs, thats part of the film. I feel that when they're dubbed in english it like watchin a pirate - you know its not the real deal.

I thought this film was excellent. I rented it a few months ago... just picked it up at random. Turned out to be alot better than i thought.

I think this is on Film 4 soon (they've been advertising it).
Can't see it listed yet so must be more than 2 weeks off.

That's shocking, surely not so soon?

Was mentioned in one of the Film 4 trailers yesterday.
No idea when it will actually be on.
Could be months away - but I can wait, I've got about 90 hours of stuff to catch up on anyway.

Thought I'd better correct my mistake above.

Film4 were advertising their video-on-demand NOT the Film4 channel.
So I guess this wont be on telly any time soon.
