Yes but when you look at the differance you get one more hdmi socket and thats it the sound is nicam on the 8 version and not on the 80 and the 80 has a bigger frame so when you think about it this is the better buy
#6
the 80 is about the same price from bennetts

http://www.bennettsonline.co.uk/entertainment/televisions/lcd-tv/Panasonic-TX32LXD80-01628107

Found 1 in edinburgh and 1 in glasgow but both too far away....

#12
hmm almost as good of a deal as Sony Bravia KDL-32V4000 for £342 (got on the 1st december)
#13
the CI slot is for pay tv modules (CAMs) that can take viewing cards (eg setanta)

the 80 doesn't have nicam? even matsui's have nicam! the frame on both sets is the same size, it is matte tho on the LXD8

the 80 also has two rear and one side HDMI, this only has two rear, check panasonic.co.uk

you also get a VGA port on the 80 http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/287749/module/general/compare/products/displayResult.html?p=TX-32LXD80&p=TX-32LXD8
