That is a brilliant price for this tv & warranty, local Panasonic dealer doing the same deal for £900
#2
A good price as still £1k at John Lewis, who don't price match to Costco/Makro, I don't think.

We have a HD ready Panasonic 42' plasma bought 18 months ago and we are really pleased with it. We have been happy with all the Panasonic stuff we have purchased.

To think that about 9 years ago I paid £500 for a 32' JVC CRT telly....... still a good telly though, use it most days in the other living room.

Does price include VAT???
#4
Do remember that you need to remain a costco member to keep the warranty.....

Wowzer that IS a good deal.
#7
Hi, did your coupon indicate pricing for the 46" version?
#8
Hi, I was going to buy this set from Richersounds on Saturday for £819. Would I be able to buy this set from Leeds on the same day of registering as a member? How do you check stock in Leeds? Thanks HOT DEAL!

No not this time, with this type of deal they are specific about the TV

You would be able to purchase on the same day as registering but be aware of the start date. If you can wait for a day you could save a few quid.

Hi thanks for the reply.
How can I save a few quid if I wait??
#11
Sorry, the deal starts on the 14th at Costco. Cheers

Really! I paid £1200 fro 32" Philips in 2001 . Yes, I know that was stupid price to play (I was young & stupid) but it was the first flat-screen telly to come out in 2001.

Currys in Thurrock Retail Park have the Sony KDL40Z5500 for a clearance price of £798.00. Not sure whether to go for that or this
#14
Don't foget £23.50 membership.

England pathetic as usual so posting here instead.
#15
This is an amazing deal...we have this tv and I've sat all day watching the football in itv HD, you have to see it to believe it! The quality is AMAZING!

I'd personally go for this, one of the best plasmas you can get. I do think the picture seems a lot sharper, plus the sound is better too.

Anyway for price this is very good, for a high end plasma i'd highly recommend this, as good if not better than the pioneer kuro series
#17
Interested to know if the 46 and 50 have been discounted

JL will not price match costco, I've tried before. I have costco membership for 12 quid through a friends business so a saving on the standard 25 quid and worth asking around.
#19
Ive been watching the price of this Plasma for months on Amazon waiting for the price to drop.
Damn shame its a company I cant get it from - being on the Isle of Wight. :(

Great deal - hope others follow suit

> as good if not better than the pioneer kuro series

General consensus is Its not as good as Kuro in terms of black levels. The next model up will be. (V20 or VT20 cant remember - should be out very soon)

Is Costco warranty In Home or same day replacement ? Or do you have to send it off and wait ...
#22

If you're watching this look out for their 3 and 5 times points codes if you can pay with an M&S card. You could get £15+ in M&S vouchers that way.

I've been fancying this for some time. The previous model had some sexy reviews. I saw this Friday in JL for the first time. I wasn't balled over by it as I thought i'd be. It was beside the new Samsung which seemed far superior.

What y'all think about thie then?

Go to a proper audio visual shop with a dedicated test room that still has a kuro (many do because the kuro is a benchmark screen) and you will see the new panasonics whilst very good, arenot at the level of the kuros for pq, nevermind black levels.

I'm a Costco member and I would buy this item if Costco would take responsibility for delivery. I gather that delivery is a fairly specialised business - for example the unit shouldn't be transported on its side. I just don't trust myself to get it home in one piece in the back of my hatchback!
#26
Heat/rep given to OP!

Might bag one of these to replace my Sony 40V4000 LCD in my bedroom.

Any negative points to this particular set or anything better for similar money?

Thanks.

Cheekster.

You are a victim of marketing manipulation.
Grass is green, sky is blue, LCD makes those colours candy like.
I know it looks more appealing, but it is not good for you.
Plasma in a darkened room (not shop shelf) will be by far superior and will not burn your eyes out!

Great deal and heat added.
My Girlfriends parents bought this from JL a couple of months back for £1000+.
Great screen and recommended.

Cmon England !!!!! (Chin up Mr Green)

i just returned this tv back to costco.... they have a great return policy
#30
Thought i'd answer a few questions as i work for Costco. The 42" is the only one discounted, not the 46" or 50" as the discount is from the coupon booklet that run from month to month (usually).
Included is the 5 year warranty; basically anything you buy from Costco can be returned for a full refund within 90 days, after that you have to call the concierge service if anything goes wrong with the television and they will then send an engineer to fix the television. If it can't be fixed they will probably refer you back to a store for a refund.
#31
Do you require a 'coupon' on purchase?
1 Like #32
The 'coupon' books are available to members in store although our store automatically takes them off at the till.
#33
lozerence how much is the 46G20 at Costco at the moment, do you know?
1 Like #34
I think the 50G20 is £1057....
#35
Im not sure on the price off the top of my head, although i can check tomoz...
#36
Does Costco have V20 at all? If yes, what are the prices?
#37
Cracking price, for an excellent tv.
#38
Can anyone recommend a good wall bracket or stand for this?
#39
The V20 is the 3D panasonic yes? if so i havent seen it yet, at the moment we are only selling the samsung series 7000 3D televisions. In my opinion 3D is overated from what i have seen, especially with the premium that you pay for it.

No, VT series is the 3D now, V series is a step up in better blacks etc over G series.
I went to my local House of Fraser and 3D is actually impressive even with rubbish light leaking Panasonic glasses.
I would be interested in V series or 46-50 G.
