No Tesco are doing a free five year warranty promotion on all TVs over 32", scroll down the page to the red " 4 Special offers" bit. Being the stupid dimwits that they are though, they are also offering 5 years warranty for £66.99 on the product pages for the tellies covered.

Nope its free. Parents bought a 32" Sony @ £200 odds and got the free 5 year warranty yesterday. Same telly at same price in Currys but quoted something daft for a 5 year warranty.
PS. I can't find it online but in my local Tesco (Antrim,N.Ireland) they had some Xbox one bundle deal and I swear this was the telly. Worked out something daft like £150 extra when buying the console for the telly. If I'm there at the weekend I'll grab a picture.

No but a Chromecast @ £19.99 from Wuaki (Free Chromecast when you buy Suits Season 3 for £19.99) will solve that. https://chromeshop.wuaki.tv/uk/checkout/index.html

Or if like me you got a few Chromecasts around Black Friday for £18, even better.

What's the sound like on the 50" version? I bought the 24 inch version of the Blaupunkt for the kitchen from Tesco Direct with the 5 year warranty a few months back. The sound is pretty bad on it plus hence contemplating changing it and using as a monitor instead. Was using the 39 inch version of this Panasonic TV in the bedroom last night and they're worlds apart. Maybe the 50 inch version is better quality?

could buy this from Currys using O2 priority £30 off a £300 spend (add an item for £1 to get it to the £300 mark) to make it £270 (albeit without the 5 year warranty)

Give me a good old Bush or Alba any day of the week rather than this branded nonsense - i would much rather have tinny speakers that rich sound...

heat from me!

regarding panasonic "smart tv" configurations - I have a 42" Panasonic plasma in my living room which we got 4 years back, it had Smart built into it - BBC iPlayer and YouTube - tbh since then we have bought a Chromecast (streaming showbox movies and BT Sport) and a NowTV (for the remainder of the terrestrial TV catch up options)

personally, I'd rather pay more and not have to deal with that is less shower of barstewards.
Curry's have terrible return policies and service, as such I don't use them really. too many bad experiences. even after second chances in different stores

Blaupunkt are worse, far worse. These may be a budget line Panny but it's still much better than the budget "brands".

By the way this unit does have Freeview HD (not in title)

The 300B I bought my Auntie actually had DLNA (no smart) so I wouldn't be surprised if the listing it wrong and this is DLNA compatible.

seem a very good price

Heat, thanks. Think I'll consider this one.

My mums analogue 32" CRT is playing up, so she asked me to keep an eye out for a new TV. She's not after bells n whistles so this with the Freeview HD and a few HDMIs fits the bill nicely at the price.

Ordered one and it will arrive tomorrow as there is free next day express delivery included.

No mention of the 5 year warranty during checkout, anyone have any information on this?

This should be a good TV, I have the Smart version. I paid £100 more for mine and had to pay for a 5 year warranty separately. If I'd had the choice of this at the time I'd probably have gone for this. Although the extra HDMI connection and the smart stuff on my model is much appreciated.

Unless your telly is right by your router, you'd have to buy a wireless dongle and a chromecast, in which case it would be cheaper to buy the AS500 rather than this one (AS400) wouldn't it?
#27
regarding the free 5 year guarantee, i take it that is just automatic, you don't need to register or add it to basket etc?

Very are doing this TV with smart function for £399 AS500 as mentioned by a previous poster, add buy now pay later (upto 12 months) and they give you a 20% credit to your account, brings the price down to £320 plus if your a new customer buying via quidco possibility of getting 10% cashback. You can pay for the TV anytime in the next 12 months.

Got this TV last week for £300 on Amazon. Arrived the other day. Superb picture quality. I read a few reviews complaining about sound before I bought it, but me and my boyfriend think the sound is very good quality. We got a 3 year warranty, but I'd say a no brainer with the 5 year warranty included. Also wall mountable - looks great in our bedroom!
#30
The 5 year warranty doesn't cover damage it just covers mechanical or electrical faults, I bought the blaukpunt 50 today @ Tesco for £279. For the price I'd say its a pretty good TV, sound quality is not too bad, cant complain too much for that price.

You should go for the AS600 rather than 500. 600 has 3 HDMI connections and dual core rather than single core processor making the smart functionality run faster.

Arrived today. 8 screws and up and running in jig time. Looks good. Great service from Tesco.

daft question time but what is a 'smart' TV please?

daft question time but what is a 'smart' TV please?

It uses your internet to stream stuff stuff such as youtube, BBC Iplayer. Usually allows streaming from a HDD or pen drive of photos, MP3, AVI etc.

Most new blu ray players support all of that too, so just buy one of them to accompany the TV

What's the input lag on this like?
