Great price with the Blu-Ray player too... thought they'd have sold out of G10's in there mega one day deal (which ended up with TV costing £625 delivered with 5 year g/t)
#9

#10

#11

#12
Why does it say that the TV is £749.00?? Where does the £728.38 come in??
#13
I'm not sure whether I'd go for a G10 - it has problems showing SD apparently (I don't own one - it's just what I've read!), there is a workaround - to watch HD channels via the HDMI, and SD channels via scart  If you can be bothered with switching around.

See http://www.avforums.com/forums/plasma-televisions/1098828-very-poor-sd-g10.html for more info (or many other arcticles on avforums about the g10 SD problem)

The general consensus seems to be that it's great for BluRay and HD, but if you watch a lot of SD (like normal SKY or freeview) then your better off with the the cheaper Panasonic X10 model :
http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma-tv/panasonic/viera-txp42x10/pana-txp42x10
which is only £499. It's not 1080p - but many people believe it's impossible for the human eye to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p if your over 6 feet away from the screen (again just an opinion) and the X10 has excellent overall reviews for HD and SD.

I've still voted hot as this seems to be the cheapest price for a G10 - if thats what your after.

okay just to make it clear!

step by step!

1) login to quidco

2) find merchant M & S and click through quidco link to M & S website

3) under technology tab find tvs / plasma

4) find the Panasonic 42'' TX-P42G10

5) add to basket

6) now you must (to get the free blu ray player) add the blu ray player to the basket as well - easy way in the search box at top of webpage enter T042712
(note: only at the checkout stage will it come up as free)

7) add this to basket

8) when you go to the checkout page it will automaticall reduce to £733 ish

9) enter free delivery code (and this will knock off the delivery charge)

10) submit the order

11) check days after if quidco has tracked

12) send off for seven free blu ray movies, with reciept when recieved

This beats the previous 1 day TX-P42G10 deal, if you get the Bluray Player and 7 discs, hands down. I wish I had waited for this one!

Well as you don't own one you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about  The set is just fine at showing SD signals,l the issue comes when people sit about 4 feet from a TV that is too big!

This set is fan-bluming-tastic and this is a cracking deal
#25
voted hot, cracking tv, and bonus with the blu ray player and free blu rays. SD looks fine on my one
#26
The blu ray player is no longer showing. Out of stock? Or am I missing something?

Totally agree. I got this TV earlier this week and was nervous about the SD picture. My fears have been blown away, the picture is great. HD is fantastic and SD isn't a problem.

The blu ray player is not showing....eee. Am I too late already!?

+1

avforums is full of anorkas and forums are always a place for people to complain more than praise. I post a lot on avforums (same username) but this is a cracking set. i got a 50g10 for my old many 6 months back - lovely on SD and i have two panny plasma panels myself (PWD8) so i know what i am comparing against

Some people just believe everything they read unfortunately.....

I had one though, tweaked and tweaked it until i was blue in the face, and i can tell you the SD is awful when compared to other similiar sized tvs. But yeah you are right, when viewed from about 30 Meters away you can't notice the issue.. if its for a living room, and your living room is smaller than 30 meters squared, buy something else...

Its great for HD, but SD is shockingly bad..

Sorry to pee on yer parade..

Probably why these sets are going cheap.

You get what you pay for, got a kuro now, and no turning back to this crap

In respect to the above, i have a cable bx connected via scart its pefect!! EUROVOX 1100sl
and my hdmi to popcorn box and ps3 plu x360 al perfect.

SD telly via the box been very good!! youcan download the firmware for panny , but i believe you will get a new panny from M&S should be up to date.

most people who had issues were from the first few batches. I will say if your an AVID GAMER maybe the LCD is better to for. I have had the sony w5500 and i believe that is AWESOME!! n blur u do get very little blur in very fast moving scenes on the panny but hardly only found on modern warfare 2 .. halo 3 odst been fine.

The sharpness is with the sony panny little soft unless you watch 100p movies its Excellent!!

other than that its a great BUY..

I have just come off the phone to M&S and the reason you can't add the Blu-Ray Player is they are out of stock. Advised to keep looking at website for more stock to arrive shortly.
#39
any deals on the txl37v10b?
#40
Tempting, but I really want the 46" one ( I shall just tell the wife it's a 42!)
