Great price for a great TV. I have had a Panasonic Plasma for over a year and it has a really good picture , it is really good in SD, which is what most of us will be watching still for a few years to come

ah rite, sorry my mistake for not reading your post about it going on sale 2moro  just looking for some reviews

I cant find any details about this model on the Panasonic site or any reviews, is this a baby brother version of the Panasonic TX-P42X10B??
#7
not full hd only kidding
#8
Use Quidco and any Nectar points to get the cost down even further
#9
It's going to be Pannys new entry level plasma. I can't really seeing it being any worse than the PX80 (last gen). Contrast ratio is quoted at different levels by different retailers lol.

http://www.johnlewis.com/230586990/Product.aspx has some more specs ;)

EDIT: from all other websites it seems this model has 3 HDMI sockets, not 2, I'm just trying to find out if they are v1.3 to support deep colour or not...
#10
probably better to pay the little extra and get the 5 year warranty wtih JL??
#11
Would ratehr have the new Freesat model which was on here the other day at £699 but decent deal for a decent HDTV
#12
This is actually available to buy now if you phone up and order (I phoned to enquire yesterday, and they were happy for me to purchase there and then - which I didn't)

It is not going to be stocked instore unfortunately - I tried to get JL to pricematch yesterday, but as it is a delivery only item they wouldn't play ball..........

As for the TV, it seems to be the new budget line - lower spec than the X80 and its replacement, the X10 - Panasonic have rarely made a duff Plasma though, so should be OK. I would rather see it in the flesh and/or read a review before handing over 500 notes though................

Im saving for one of the new Samsung LED TVs....

Phone them up - it is available for delivery, but the site has not updated..................

Honestly, can people not read anymore?

.............and this model has 2 HDMI, not 3

From the Panasonic website:

The C10 Series HD Ready plasmas models boast the high picture quality in the high-definition class. Features include VIERA Image Viewer, VIERA Link, 2 HDMI inputs and a lead-free, long-life panel. Three plasma models will be available: 37” (TX-P37C10), 42” (TX-P42C10), and 50” (TX-P50C10).

If we can assume this has the same specs as the US model (P42C1) then there are full specs here:

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Televisions/All-VIERA-Flat-Panel-HDTVs/model.TC-P42C1.S_11002_7000000000000005702#tabsection

......sounds pretty good actually.

There is also one consumer review at Amazon.com (5 stars)

You should check the reviews before you part with your cash. AVF Phil hinton gives a good review and was not impressed.

Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels. Not a full 1080.
#21
If only it was 1080p
#22
cheaper @ Richer Sounds....:? £529
#23
Only £599 in JL though with a free five year guarantee.

3yr guarantee with Argos is £200, making it a total of £750 for this set with not even the same level of cover as JL.

(You'd be nuts by the way to buy something like this without good extended warranty cover)

This is entry level. If you hang on until the weekend they will be selling it at £499.00 plus full 5 year panasonic warranty in all panasonic shops (bank holiday weekend special). That is the information i got from the Panasonic shop in Plymouth. Hope this helps.

You sure? Panasonic Salisbury have it listed as £599, and the 37" as £499

Info on AV forums also says that the C10 will not be included in the 5yr warranty.

I would delighted if I am proved wrong, as I am thinking of picking one of these up. The specs are as good as, or better than the PX80, which was a fantastic TV, and power consumption is much lower, so looks like a winner to me. I'm trying to get JL to price match the Richer Sounds £529 atm (for the 5 year warranty at JL), but even better if I can get one from an indie dealer for under 500 notes.:-D
#37
thanks for the rep guys, appreciated:thumbsup:
#38
Folks have been getting the significantly better X10 for £620 from John Lewis, pricematching with RS.
If you are thinking about getting this TV from Argos, invest a bit of time on AV Forums & get yourself a significantly better TV, with a 5 year guarantee for only £70 more than this apparantly sweltering deal.
#39
Definately including 5 year warranty it's a bank holiday special, you are right about the prices oops.. my mistake but defo 5 year warranty for the dealer which imo is well worth it.
#40
I'd be surprised if it has "Picture in Picture" as the X10 doesn't.
