Seems like a good price for a good brand 4gb SDHC Memory card, selling for over £12 at Amazon and £17+ elsewhere,

The SDHC specification was established to meet the growing demand for HD [High Definition] video and high-resolution image recording which require massive data storage capacity.

High Speed SD memory card is ideal for every day use. Even for every day recording, Panasonic applies high speed 5MB/s performance to each card. (Up to 10MB/s for 4GB)

The SD Memory Card has the ability to freely copy general digital data and uses unique built-in technology for storing and transferring copyrighted content. This feature, which uses CPRM technology, is key to enabling a new distribution system for music and other commercial media, because it assures a high level of protection against illegal copying

* Up to 10MB/s Data Transfer Speed
* Class 4 Speed Performance
* Ideal for Digital Reflex / SLR
* Ideal for SD Video Camera
* Extreme Operating Temperature: -25 to 85 (Degrees)
* CPRM Copyright Protection

I'd personally pay a pound more for a class 6 card (http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/5984406/Play-com-4GB-SD-HC-Class-6-Memory-Card/Product.html), ok you're not getting the Panasonic name but I've had no problems with the Play cards I've bought in the past.

Agree it's a good brand but in what way can you honestly say it's better than the Play branded one? Are you just guessing it'll be more reliable or do you have real experience?

Plays card could be made by anyone couldnt they, its not like we are talking a huge difference in price.

Yes, I agree with that but this one could be too. Almost certainly 'bought in' from a specialist memory manufacturer and just quality checked by Panasonic. There are probably just a couple of manufacturers in Taiwan or somewhere putting them out by the millions for most brands. Would Kingston be one of the original suppliers?

I believe someone posted that the last ones I bought from Play were re-branded Toshibas (though quite possibly Toshiba buy in too).

Agree probably worth 50p for the reassurance but I was just curious to know if anyone ever had quality problems with SD cards (cheap or branded). Maybe I've just been lucky so far.

I've decided to stick at 2Gb for photos now. Still get plenty on a card, easier to find them afterwards and less of a loss if one fails or gets lost. Also some card readers won't read SDHC whereas SD is pretty much universal. Something bigger useful for video or netbooks though.

From these reviews, it seems that sometimes there are quality issues.

I haven't seen similar comments in the reviews for the 4GB or 16GB ones so maybe it was just a bad batch
