whats the power consumption on this bad boy ?

240W average up to 395W - Depends on motion, colour, brightness etc.
#10
I want !

I bought one of these from SoundAndVision in Leeds for £725 inc 5 year warranty. Had to bully them to get that price though!

thanks for the power consumption figures!
(they are actually not nice when you consider the amount of dross on the channels...at which point I turn off)
However, combined with everything else that sits sucking power in your typical living room etc, this does add a shedload of load on your power supply, considering how much % electric prices are going up each year.

I'll stick with my projector, at least the family makes an effort to watch the damn thing when we use it, with the tv, it's in -out, but left on regardless.
voted hot on price, (& it's a panasonic)

Are you sure? If so, double ouch; they were mugged to be honest.

To the OP: good price, heat added.

Does this plasma play Xbox and ps3 nicely?
wasnt sure as you hear stories about blurry screens and Image retention on some plasmas.
#20

Been this price for an age at richer sounds. JohnLewis price match for a quick pick @ store up with free 5 yr
warranty. Could also try currys price match +10% off if not bothered about warranty. Had my current panny for four years no probs great tellys.

I won't recommend an individual stand, but what i will say is, i recommend play.com, I bought a stand for a smaller tv from there just over a year ago, was very impressed by it, it was probably at least 2 thirds cheaper than stands for sale in DSG group stores ( e.g currys ) and better quality, so good I made my dad get one too.

There is no such thing as a 1080i Plasma/LCD. The X10 has a resolution of 1366 x 768 thus making it a 768p screen.
#27
Nice TV :-)
#28
Does Size or Quality matters in this case?

How big is your livingroom anyway?

Make sure you don't get Plasma Burn (like sun burn).
#30
Good price, though if it were me I'd try to grab a deal on an end of line G10, or go for the new S20/G20.

Yes I did, went back after being repaired once already - due to brightness/gamma flicker on dark sources.

The S10 I hate too, it has a hz flicker than only certain eyes can see. I'm one of them.

Sold to my parents for the £725 I paid for it.

My next move is a £1k Sharp LED TV!!!

Code only gives a fiver off, better off price matching with Richer Sounds at a John Lewis and getting a five yr warranty thrown in.
#33
Sounds like a very good deal. Can someone let me know if JL do price match, if they do think the free warranty is to good to miss, otherwise I might have to buy from Bennetts. Anyone know what they are like? Are they good company to deal with?

What's the difference?

The X10 is 720p but will take a 1080p signal and downscale it to fit the panel
The S10 is Full HD 1080p

You can probably expect to see quite a few deals like this as the new low to mid range Panasonics are in the shops very soon so they will want to clear these ASAP ...;-)

Thx, was wondering, unfortunately I can see flicker to on the G10 so I suspect that this might not be suitable for me... shame as I have a 10% Bennetts voucher to use...... Sharp as opposed to Samsung LED... are the Sharps better then in your opinion?
#36
How bad is the flicker your talking about? Can the average person see it or is it just you ninjas?
#37
Managed to get this just before Christmas for my neighbour, with discount and quidco cost a grand total of 365. He is still smiling like a cheshire cat. My other half wish he had got one as well. But we have a 42inch.
#38
395 watts seems massive wander how much you would save per year buying LED tv probs work out same price over 5 years

Just ninjas........
seriously, you either can or cannot, go to comet/currys etc and look, you'll know if you can see it.......I can in the G10

I bought the 50U10 (not much difference between the 2) and am disappointed.
Colours are washed out and image quality is poor (on SD channels via SKY HD via HDMI ). HD channels look great though.
All my old plasmas performed better (480P, 720P and 1080P )with SD feeds. Not sure if I have a dud
