Any idea on the model no.?
Dont see the point in this post
More details would be nice.
Might be the c10
Bobdylan, model number txp50c10b
Nicksinghuk, sorry, but I am new new to this forum and thought I would post what I thought was a good deal. Obviously I have done something wrong so it would have been kind of you to explain exactly what.

Because on here, they wold like you to purchase one with your money, deliver it to who ever is interested, set it up, let them examine it, leave it for at least a weeks trial, Then if they like it, they will give you half price because it is second hand.
It is a good deal, it's just Blackpool is a long way from London ;-)
So not a very friendly forum. I don't think I will bother again.

dont let them put you off
Looks like a follow on from a miss-price yesterday as reported on MSE.

Thanks for posting but most people would like more details like the model number or the 6 digit sku number just under the price on the ticket. Also, Currys/Comet/PC World deals are always hit and miss as staff, when notified, will then keep for themselves.

Keep posting.
Good post mate, i will call local stores to see if thay have some in stock. Thanks for the tip.

You're right - there are some vicious people in here. But just ignore them, because they're sad little people who don't have a life outside HUKD and get some sort of kick out of being unpleasant.

Keep on posting, giving as many details as you can. Thanks for this one. ;-)
Just to confirm, they have these in stock at £499 at PC World Leicester Fosse Park. Thanks to the OP, ignore the knockers.
Yeah steph I agree, a lot of people are really mardy in this forum. Unless it is a DVD thats £0.03 cheaper than somewhere else it will not get voted hot. Oh, the other things that get voted hot are 'novelty' items such as male sex toys or naked women to open food off.
Good deal if you have no windows or possibly nocturnal

Dont see the point in this post

I don't see the point in yours either - why be so rude to a new member ??- if you haven't anything nice to say then SHUT IT.
Is this 1080p ?

I have reported you
This may explain why it was briefly 499 on the Web site. I ordered one last night at that price, and this morning it's gone back up to 699 online. I wonder if it was only meant to be the lower price in-store and somehow it briefly got mucked up online? Whatever happened, I think it's a good deal and am happy to have one on the way. :)

And no, it's not 1080p.
More details would be nice.

Yes, it would be. At this price it won't be a high spec and almost certainly not a 1080p set but still it's a 50" Panasonic TV for £500. Hot!

Is this 1080p ?

Nope, 1024x768. Also lacking an anti-reflective filter. If your budget's #500 and you want a 50-inch telly, it's still one hell of a deal, but if you've got a few more quid to spend I'd say spend a few more quid... End of day though, the price is hard to argue with, so heat to OP - stock in Chester as well by the way.

H+R left, welcome to the Forum, ignore the idiots
OK. First off, this thread has gone way off topic.

Second, I agree that £500 for a 50" Panny is a good deal but again, it would be nice to know which model it is.

I'll call my local in the morning and see if I can get a model number and SKU code. Then we can update the thread.
No 1080p = cold :(
I have reported you

Hes been reported before and been put on suspension for threatening people.
So not a very friendly forum. I don't think I will bother again.
I don't blame you, makes you wonder why you bother posting deals for other people to benefit from when all you get is abuse. Not everyone on here is like that though, so just ignore the idiots
No need for the abuse chaps.

The OP has posted a good deal. There was reason for some scepticism early on because of lack of thorough information, but OP is new and it does take some time to learn the ropes.

As for the product itself, Panasonic have not made a poor plasma in the past 5 years so I see no reason why this would be a dud. Sure it is not 1080P (it's native resolution is actually 1366x768) but most television is not 1080P anyway.

I own 37" and 50" Panny Plasmas. The 50"er is 1080P and the 37"er is 720P but I really cannot tell the difference with true Blu-Ray 1080P content unless I stand within 8 feet (and I do not do that with my large screen). For standard definition the 37"er actually looks better to me.

£500 for a Panasonic 50" HD-Ready plasma is a bargain.
my two penneth worth .

keep posting, you always get the moaning bast`s , for gods ssake this forum is to help people get a good deal, i dont know how many times ive drieven around here there and everywhere to get one of these `instore` deals and not found one, but it doesnt stop me trying.

so keep posting and forget the moaning gits, if one person benefits from your post , its worth it :D
The C10 is a good telly - much the same specs as the X10 - unfortunately it is lacking an anti-glare filter, and the screen is incredibly reflective.

Buy if you are going to use it in, say, a home cinema room, but avoid if you are planning on putting it in a sunny living area.

.........I had the 42" version for a day - couldn't live with the reflective screen and sent it straight back.

(There is a huge thread debating the problems of the C10 over at AV Forums -
jeez thats quite sad, one person having several accounts to abuse people. wow.
Great deal for those that find it. I'm jealous. :-D
Hmmmm I saw PC World had some 50" panasonic plasmas for £500 on clearance as well today but did not take too much notice..... It had an 8 in the model number and presumed it to be an old series? It was definitely not 1080p.... And an 80 in the model number which was £550.... Sorry quite basic info.... Was at the Coventry store....

edit: Oh and these were on display out of boxes.... So possibly from display?
I've edited my previous post. These are in stock at PC WORLD, Leicester Fosse Park, not Currys....
blackpool store got four of these tv's, not just three.

one got sold within an hour of being on shop floor.
close of business today though, 3 still remained.

can't go far wrong with a panasonic plasma though, even without being fullHD, it'll still look better than an own brand with it! ideal for movies etc the sound quality is always decent on a panasonic too.
mmmmm... £10 an inch, yes please.
To be fair I haven't seen anything at all personal and untoward against the OP, just some genuine questions as the post was extremely sparse to start with, upon which the OP started calling the place unfriendly.

Stephquigs, genuine thanks for posting what you think is a bargain, but a thicker skin is really needed if you post here? Even the best bargains get abuse (which you haven't, just some quesations and then mild comments from people who should have been more polite).
i work in a currys digital in london and i think there was 1 in my store i am willing to buy this tv and if any 1 wants it they can come and pick it up from me, so long as u live in london. msg me for more details
