I've got one of these and it's a fantastic player. Also plays DivX files on DVD and USB Stick.

I'm still waiting for the Sony to be delivered so can update you soon if you still need to know.

The main reason i didnt like the panny was it was too slow to start up and play a disc - if this isnt a problem for you i would recommend it as the quality was top notch. Oh another reason was i wanted .mkv compatibility and the Sony offered this so i sold it while i could still get a reasonable price.

Ive tested the Sony BDP-370 and compared with the Panny BD-60 - initial observations are;

1) Panny is a nicer looking dvd player - Sony is a glossy dust trap

2) Sony start up and disc access is far quicker - you can make a cup of tea waiting for the Panny

3) Picture quality on blu-ray, both superb but the Sony might edge it as the colours seem richer and it handles dark scenes really well

4) Bonus - the BBCiplayer on the Sony looks great, some playback looks as good as live digi tv

5) On Sony .mkv's and .avi's via USB work perfectly and its a breeze to navigate/ fast forward etc - movie files didnt work on the Panny.

Overall the Sony wins hands down for me, its versatile and picture perfect - only negative i can come up with is its not a good looker and the remote is a bit basic - but who cares !

ps. best deal i could find is with Amazon - i added the player, the 2m double shielded HDMi (on promotion you get it free when buying the player) and a blu-ray dvd (you get £5 off the dvd price when you checkout). Also applied for an Amazon credit card to get a further £15 discount. :thumbsup:
