The above camera was 129.97 and is on sale for 89.97 currently on tesco direct however tesco direct are doing a voucher that can take off £15 off digital cameras if you spend atleast £80. This is a lumix panasonic camera that records videos with sound so this in my opinion is a very good deal. Voucher code TDR-RTGY

It's a very cheap camera - you won't find many reviews about it because of it's cheapness (People don't care that much about that end of the spectrum)

The only comments that I have found (dpreview) say that the pictures are too soft, and it has cheap optics (arguably the most important part of the camera) - people recommend paying a little more to get a better camera.

Yes it's definitely a good price for it, it's just a matter as to whether you would be willing to get something better - as for what's better, someone recommended the LS8 (but i think that's an american model)

I guess in the worst case scenario you could try it, see what it's like and sell it on (or return it) if it's not to your liking.

Though Panasonic get some amazing reviews, not everything they produce is good.

(Perhaps that's why some people are voting cold?) - I vote hot for the price, but not so for the product. As it's the best price around, though, i'll vote hot.

The FS5 is a lovely camera, excellent reviews. I think the FS4 struggles a bit with image noise. I think what you will lose in ISO noise, you will gain in nice vivid colours from this camera.

Going to be on par with the sony's of this price I think.

Stick with it, may turn out to be a good buy.

Also consider the new panasonic policy of propriator batteries. In future you will only be able to use original panasonic batteries for all their cameras (at a hefty price tag of £50+). This turns me away from panasonic, although they make nice cameras like the GH1. Check this old thread on panasonic battery policy.

My last 4 cameras/camcorders have all been panasonic. The batteries are made by many 3rd parties and cost around £4-£6 each from ebay, they last just as long as panasonic branded batteries and much less hassle than AAA/AA rechargeables. Shame to miss out on some of the best products around thinking batteries cost £50

dont worry about the batteries, you can get them (original panasonic ones) for £12 off Amazon, they are £50/ 60 from panasonic but even off dealers websites they're more like £30 ... so I wouldn't let that dissuade you from buying one of these cameras.

Weird I have the FS3 and love this camera. Would expect FS4 to have as good if not better pic quality but maybe this is not the case?

The battery thing would not put me off. Could always swap back with original if something went wrong.
