I did look earlier but could see the deal, so thought I'd post it myself (I refered to it in a deal request too).

A great 7.2 MP camera which is £190 in Currys, but they are offering £40 cashback on any purchases of this camera until the 25th July. As Dixons are the same group, they're offering the same deal, but with their headline busting PriceMatch giving a much better initial price of £137.98 + £3.95 delivery.

The Net result: a top notch camera for a little over £100. Oh and dont forget the massive 0.5% quidco on cameras to save an extra 70pence. Well worth it, I think you'll agree.

The 7.2 megapixel DMC-FX12 features a bright f/2.8 LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens with 3x optical zoom. The high quality Leica DC lens carries on the proud tradition of its famous Leica brand, the German camera maker renowned for lenses that combine superb performance with compact size. Comprising seven elements in six groups, including three lenses with three aspherical surfaces, this advanced lens unit matches Leica's stringent standards and delivers an exceptional optical performance.

Keeps your shots steady, even if you're not, with an advanced optical image stabilising system, Panasonic's ingenious MEGA Optical Image Stabiliser (OIS).

Detects movement, prevents blurring! Intelligent ISO Control detects whether the subject is moving and, as necessary raises the ISO setting and shutter speed according to how fast the subject is moving and the light conditions.

Link to the cashback offer:

http://www.dixons.co.uk/store_doc/rj07/wk08/pana_cashback.pdf

The purchase has to be from Currys, Currys.digital, PC World or Dixons.

EDIT: With Dixons pricematch, you can call them and tell them about this site:
http://www.digico.co.uk/model.asp?Detail=Yes&ModelID=1434

which has it for £138.59 delivered. Dioxns should pricematch that and you can still claim your £40 back. Takes the camera under £100 (£98.59 to be exact). Now that's a bargain.

Don't forget 5% cashback if purchased at Dixons with an EGG card

3x is average for this sized camera really and dont forget you're getting excellent quality optics (Leica lens), good Optical Image stabilisation and Lithium Ion battery. All excellent features at a good price.

I'm spoilt by my dads 7.2mp 10x optical panasonic lumix lol. I just need the zoom.

I can't wait to buy the Lumix 10X Optical, so tiny!, £270 is way too much though, if ever it comes down closer to £100 I will be buying it, might have to wait a good few years for that though.

the tz3 is £220 from Tecno at the mo. if thats any help.
#7
If I buy this online will I get a cashback form in box ,or will I have to print off form that it is in link and post that away?
#8
you'll probably have to download the form yourself, although as the offer is available in the highstreet stores, you could always go into one of those and get the form.

Whats the camera like? I need a new one and am looking at the Canon IXUS 850 IS, but the specs are pretty similar (7 MP, IS, Ultra Compact...) - Is the quality comparable? Anyone got one?
#10
they are very comparable cameras although the Ixus has been out for a few more months.

Unless I am mistaken (it does happen... Alot) the Canon cant be found for much less than £200, this Panasonic is available for half that. Thats quite alot of beer tokens spare. :-)))

Check www.dpreveiw.com for reviews and see their forum for feedback.

I phoned dixons to price match it (camerabox £119.99), and the answer was they cannot match the price simply because camerabox do not offer the cashback.

any good deals for Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8???

http://www.dphotojournal.com/images/panasonic/panasonic-dmc-fz8.jpg
#26
I used this camera extensively on a weeks holiday. It is very easy to use.But the main problem is when you use the optical zoom the picture looses its clarity dramatically. I wish I had tested it before carrying it as the only camera for holidays:cry:
