The 1.8-Inch LCD monitor for FZ5 has become large as 2.5-Inch for FZ7 gaining much brightness even in the low-lit situations thanks to the pixel-mixed readout method performed at the CCD.

I thought that there was no duty on digital cameras...

It's about the same price so probably not worth the risk spatter :) Welcome to HotUKDeals by the way ;-)

Are those real photos adamck? They look so good - they look like they've been rendered!

Nice!

I took these images last week and i hnestly havent edited anything on them.
Just resize and remove the reg plates.
Havent played with any bruses or effects or even brightness...
A reason why i was sooo impressed with the outcome when i got home.
They where as bright as the LCD was showing me.
Thanx for the comments.

Jessops in-store price £249.99. Difference = £60
110% difference makes it £6 less if they match it :)

Thanks again adamct [Babbler too!] for the pricematch note :)

I got one ages ago. This price is fab. I paid a lot more but it was worth it! Go give it a bash!
#16
wow adam, excellent pictures - are they all on full auto setting, or are you doing some manual setting?
#17
They are on manual exposure.
E.g manual shutter and apature settings. just half press the shutter and play with the shutter speed until the bar goes into the middle. maybe add a sec or 2 to make it a lil brighter.

My "artistic" son just bought one of these on the deal link. He's dead chuffed. Upgraded from a Fuji 602.

I have the Nikon D70 and Tamron 28-300mm lens, but I am wondering if I had been better off with this now !

Nice camera, superb lens, VERY lightweight. 10/10 :)

I am surprised I missed this deal first time around as it is a cracker. Tempted but I have the fuji 5600 which if not as good is probably good enough for me. Voted Hot

I've got a 5600 on reservation at Argos, but not sure whether I should go for one of these instead as I've wanted one for a while. Descisions, descisions. Great pics by the way.

got a 2GB SD card £17.99
Battery £6.99
Case £11.99

I'm in the exactly same shoes, I haven't made a reservation though.

Decisions, decesions!

I got one of these when i went to the states last month. It really is a superb camera. I got it for less than that though! I think it came to £165 including a 2 GB card and a case. Still a bargain and not to be missed!!

Can i ask where you got the extra battery from please adamck?

Hi,

First post alert!!!

I have been looking at this thread with interest. I am looking for a camera to replace my current kit which is no longer used. I would still like to have a decent camera mainly for photos of my child.

Mainly we just use a Nikon Coolpix 4100. This suits our needs except for really bad shutter lag with and without the flash in doors. Picture quality is nearly the same as my SLR.

I also have a 35mm Nikon F65 with a 28mm - 80mm and 70mm - 300 mm lens.

Do people think that this camera is a suitable replacement?

If I am lucky I should be able to sell my old stuff on Ebay for about the same price. Do people agree?

Best Regards

Barry

Hey Barry, welcome to the forums. Hopefully someone can help you out with your queries :) If you're wondering how much you'd get on eBay for your current setup, nip over there and do a quick search.

I got my spare battery from EBAY for 99P plus £6 delivery from china.
Still waiting for delivery ;-)
The case was from an ebay seller in manchester and is a genuine panasonic waterproof one made for the DMC-FZ7 and delivery was very quick! total came to about £12 for it and im made up!.
The card was from dvd.co.uk, again good delivery and cheap!
Still happy snapping and made up with the camera for everything! i take it everywhere now.

Brilliant pictures Adam, they look so rich and striking. ...Impressive for night shots. As Emma said, there is something computer generated about them, I think it must be the vibrant colours (the road pics look like they're out of a racing game).

I hope you don't mind if I ask, have you taken anything at a quicker exposure? Or any fast moving images? And how fast is the snap time (or whatever you call it)... and the power-on time. The last time I looked into digital cameras that were (nearly) truely instant, they cost over a grand !!!!
#28
The shutter speed goes from 1/2000th of a second to 60 seconds.
Most cams will do 1/2000th but not as many do long exposure of 60 secs (great for very dark night shots).
I havent edited any of the pictures in any way at all!
Brightness and colours are all from the camera.
I think the leica lense acts kindof like a high definition lense in a way because when compaing mine to my friends 8MP canon (actual digital SLR) mine seemed to appear alot higher quality and much more vibrant and brighter.
Finding hard to take a bad picture tbh! this cam is so easy to use.
These images arnt even taken in RAW format (TIFF) so it has potential to take even higher quality!
I havent had the luxury of taking many day pics worth posting yet... but ones i have played with have been excellent again!
Startup time is reasonable but not instant and of course pic taking is much quicker with manual focus on.
Oh and it lets u take unlimited picture bursts too! :)
Hope this helps.
Adam.

p.s got my batteries yesterday! (long delivery but work great:))

Hi,

Could I ask what shutter lag is like in normal indoor conditions. My current camera has a lag of about 2 seconds with the flash on and I am looking mainly to improve on this.

Regards

Baz

hmmm im not totally sure tbh.
Best bet to get a good idea is to go into dixons or jessops and have a play yourself!
i know both places have it in stock at the mo and will let u play around.
If the camera guy knows much about what hes selling he will agree the lense is one of the best lol.
If u aim for taking TIFF RAW images on highest setting you migh wish to buy a fast CD card as saving time is abit slow and for every second the shutter is open counts as a second of processing time for the image.
So 20 sec shutter speed will take another 20 secs to process (which is pretty normal as far as i know)
