Am looking for a cheapish digital camera to carry around with me and came accross this one at Comets, supposedly reduced from £159.99. Have searched but cannot find any reviews for it. I know it is 5mp, but only 3.0 optical zoom. Does anyone know if this is a good buy?

Excellent price for a camera with Optical Image Stabilisation.

3x zoom is standard in compact camera's and 5 MegaPixels is enough for decent sized prints, with the OIS helping to eliminate that nasty camera shake. Good Find. HOT!

Got one from Argos before xmas. The feature this has that no other cameras in the same price range has, is image stabilisation. This feature works really well and means you get no camera shake (blur) in most pictures even indoors and without a flash. A 3x zoom is about standard for this type of camera. I would certainly recommend it.

I got it for the wife who wanted a point and shoot camera and she is very happy with it. Paired up with an Epson Picturemate 500 and we now have a house full of baby snaps.

Bargain of the Year (so far).

Generally Panasonic digital cameras are terrific. The 3x zoom may not be high, but the optical quality of the Leica lenses is excellent. For £70 it's an absolute steal.

Many thanks for all your replies about the Panasonic camera. I am really suprised, I didn't think it would get that good feeback! I have now reserved one to pick up tomorrow, so will let you all know how I get on! Thanks again, your help is much appreciated!

Totally amazed this bargain has not been mentioned on here before. It's Been around for a few weeks now so my apolgies for not posting it.

I've been telling everyman and his dog to get one of these are they are all very happy.

You don't realise how important Image stabilisation is till you turn it off !

As they say total no brainer at this price - jeez it was a great camera at £150!! :w00t:

Although this is very good value, with the image stabaliser, it does not have the Leica lense featured on most panasonic cameras, that is why it is a cheaper model than most Panasonic Lumix cameras. Still worth it though.

Bought one on my way home yesterday, nice camera!

Picked my camera up today from Comets, have only managed to have a quick play around with it, but so far am really pleased with the results. Very easy camera to use, really straightforward and good results. Many thanks to you all for helping me make the choice! Glad some of you found it helpful also.

That "L" on the picture means it has Leica lenses.

Ordered one of these. Many thanks

Just bought one, very impressed, much better than a cheap Dixons one, which we had to return after christmas. The lens is excellent.
