Lol, i remember paying over £500 for one of the 1st dvd players!!! Oh well, voting cold too cos id get a PS3 instead.

Vote it cold if you can find it cheaper but don’t vote it cold for those two ridiculous reasons.

£100 cheaper than Richer Sounds so a good deal.

For serious AV equipment £300 is not a lot for a DVD player and this is a Blu Ray. Why vote cold if you don't understand the appeal of the item????? Some people like to hear sound and watch a moving image and are happy with a supermarket £20 DVD and £50 hi fi. Others appreciate sound and visual quality and will pay more.

This is a "deals" website and that doesn't have to mean "cheap s**t"!

You forgot to mention the two free Blu-ray films. Id still buy a PS3 tho

I've voted hot as it's a good £50 cheaper than i can find it elsewhere, I have to say voting something cold because you'd get another product like ps3 or because you can get a dvd player cheaper (even though this is a bluray player) is just silly.
This is the best deal around for this product, therefore it's a hot deal.

Whats the point in spending all that money on a fancy DVD player when this time next year you will be able to buy one for £19.99. I am holding off until then before I buy one.

I am fed up to the back teeth with people telling everyone you can only vote something cold if you can find it cheaper elsewhere:whistling: So if something gets a bad review and as long as it’s the cheapest you can find it has to be voted hot:p I don’t vote cold unless it’s of interest to me & is plainly a bad deal  NOT voted

Hot deal! I've been waiting for this to come back into stock.
Here's a review: http://whathifi.com/Review/Panasonic-DMP-BD55/

Those people who don't understand why it's worth paying £300 shouldn't vote. I don't understand why people should want megafast graphics card or tooposh makeup and so don't vote.

Worth mentioning that the Sony BDP 550 is also worth a gander and is £80 cheaper. http://whathifi.com/Review/Sony-BDP-S550/

It's a good deal for this player and the cheapest I've seen so far.

I actually had my mind set on getting one of these, but in the end chose the Sony S550 [same spec] as I didn't really see the point in paying the extra after carrying out a lot of research online.

Plus points for the Sony over the Panasonic [apart form being much cheaper] are, better build quality, quieter, faster startup.

And BTW, unless you need the analogue outputs] then the even cheaper Sony SD350 has exactly the same internals otherwise!

Both Sonys and Panny can be made multiregion for DVD playback using 'One 4 All' remotes.

Should also have said that the offer for 2 free BRs on the Panny website is no longer valid - was for purchases up until 24th December and claims were to have been received by 31st December....

...unless they have renewed it of course

you'll never buy technology mate. fyi, this player can be categorised into a sub-intermediate player available out there. slightly better that the beginner's ones (bd30/35/s300/s350/etc). i've got pio's bdp-lx71 which cost me around £650 couple of months back and this is also can be categorised as an intermediate bd-player. if you're after a viewing and listening experiences and care about the very quality of your audio and visual setup, you'll find that cost is not the main thing. try to search about this player though...denon dvd3800bd...or pioneer bdp-lx91 (which i'm after right now). each costs about £1500 :whistling:

just let you know the voucher works on other items and the delivery charge is £4

because you want to enjoy 1080p now and decent audio codecs and you have a decent tv, well worth it, this model will never be £20 unless it's faulty!

Even more rubbish. You will be able to buy this brand new for under £30 this time next year no problem at all.

Can you buy a panasonic dvd player for that price now?

If you can't buy a panasonic dvd player for less £30 now when dvd players have been around for 10 years, then I wouldn't hold out on a blu-ray player, which also plays dvds better than most sub £200 players, as good as a £100 cd player and also has analogue audio outputs which can decode to older av recievers so you can get hi def sounds for films.

Putting it bluntly, you're talking a load of........

If you don't want to spend the cash on something, don't start rubbishing other people who do. This deal is cheaper than elsewhere and doesn't deserve to be frozen such because some people can't see the point of it.

PS. You put a bailey's deal in. Should I have voted cold because I don't drink?
#17
Good price for a great player though i think the S550 is better value for money at the moment though. Saying you would get a PS3 instead is a bit daft as well because the people buying this will want it for the extras that the PS3 cannot do as a blu ray player and will have no interest in gaming. Voted hot as is a good price for now, while it may be cheaper next year won't everything be.

it's the features and build which will maintain it's value, yes it will drop in price but not under £30 during its lifespan

can someone tell me WHY in the world this player retails at twice the price of the DMP-BD35EB-K??
Cripes - how much extra do you get for another 180gbp? not a lot...
#20
New sound board, better isolation and power supply and analogue outputs. If you've not got a system to make use of the better sound and don't need the analogue outputs, then you're better off buying the Panasonic BD35 or Sony BDP350
