Hi peeps i was looking at the specs and couldnt see if it was wifi built in? also it stated this -

USB -------------- PortYes - MP3 only

does that mean playing mkv files is a no no?
#7
Fantastic player, bought for £110 from Richer sounds a few weeks back, still waiting for the free Blu Rays though.
For those looking to get skype working I believe it can only be done with the Panasonic TY-CC10W Web cam (£110 approx)
#8
WiFi isn't built in - you need an ethernet cable or buy the Panasonic WiFi adaptor.

I'm no expert but I play all media types through the ethernet cable not just MP3. Be suprised if the USB couldn't be attached to a HDD to play video

You can use this to get wifi on panasonic blu-ray players (Netgear WNDA3100v2 ) for £35

if its 3D avatar i've only seen it sold in cex for £60+
#14
I sold my avatar 3D blu ray for £200 A while ago it still sells for a good price on Ebay
#15
I thought it was well known that Avatar gets sold for outrageous amounts of money

They only sold it as part of a bundle with Panasonic 3D TVs originally, not available at all for general sale. However as it becomes more widely available, I can see the price falling quickly

Good deal if you want the blurays.
#16
I have and older Panasonic TV. Will it play the 3D or do I need a 100Hz TV (Think mines 60Hz)?

I assume you need the special glasses seperately?
#17
Ordered, great price for 101 delivered , free blu rays are a bonus though I would not order and bank on selling Avatar for loads - plus from what I have heard - if you want 3d or have 3d - why sell one of the best ttiles? Even so, reckon cex will still give about £20 for the other three titles altogether. Heat added,

Ordered this. Heat added thanks ! Looks like you can get about £80-£100 for the 3D blu rays alone on ebay so will end up with a player for free !

Cheers

Does anyone know if this player has YouTube, iplayer etc?

Thanks in advance :)
#22
what suffices as a till reciept? a copy of the order confirmation email?
#23
I think a printoff off the "Printable order summary" im just waiting for mine to ship as it says desptaching soon on it so i presume it will need to say "invoiced" or "desptached" for it to be accepted.
#24
I'll send them a copy of the email confirming dispatch.

If you buy this and you want to play one of the the 3D discs and watch it in 3D you will also need a 3D TV, 3d AV Receiver (If you want to play through surround sound speakers) and i think (Correct me if I am wrong) a 1.4 HDMI cable (Would you need 2? 1 to AV and 1 to TV?). And of course you will need glasses which come with the TV.

£50 is the minimum, a lot go for around £70, I recently sold one for that, I'm going to order another one of these, I'll get at least £90 for the blu rays so bargain for the player
#27
CeX stores buy for cash, so sell all the blu rays for £71 !!!:
Avatar 3D = £48.00
Gullivars Travels 3D = £11.00
Ice Age 3 3D = £6.00
Animals united 3d: £6.00

Makes Bluray player cost £30 !!
#28
Maybe a silly question here but I haven't been able to get a clear answer, do you:
a) need a 3D TV for this BluRay player to work or will a normal LCD/Plasma work
b) what 3D glasses will you need, the special ones or will the old paper/plastic ones work
#29
thanks OP! bought!

a-you need a 3D TV to be watch 3D blurays.on a normal TV you will get regular 2D
b-the special ones that come with a 3D TV.
#32
Just to confirm for anyone confused, you can use this as a normal bluray player no problem, so if you don't have a 3D TV you can order this and still use it, sell the 3d blurays and have a blu ray player for about 30 quid that is pretty future proof.
#33
good price for a budget 3d player.

Panasonic will take an age to send the discs by then i reckon CEX will have lowered the prices. Esp when everyone tries to flog Avatar to them.

Will be ideal for kids room.

I hope not.

28 days from sending off the form isn't too bad. Plus people having been selling avatar for aggeesss and it's only slowly dropping in price. If you only get 50 quid for the three of them i still think it's pretty cheap for a 3D BluRay player? :)
#37
Can this play all the major video codecs off a usb stick like mkv, avi, divx etc.?

Also this may seem like a stupid question, but can you watch the 2D version of the 3D films also on a 3D player? Like if I buy this and want to watch avatar with that 3D disc, but I dont have a 3D TV, can I still watch the film but it in 2D or is it 3D only?
#38
I received mine in about 3 weeks, you can easily sell the 4 discs on eBay for around £100, the price of avatar isn't going to drop until it goes on general release and that won't be until late 2011 or early 2012

You can't play mkvs on this but the discs do have 2d versions on them

i use HDMI 1.3 cables for 3D and they are fine but you only get 3d picture and normal dolby digital, not HD audio.
